An update has been released regarding the Ataribox, a new system being developed by Atari that was first announced at E3 2017. We now have mock-ups showing what the console could look like. It turns out there will be wood and black/red editions released, with the body of each intended to resemble an Atari 2600.
The front panel of the Ataribox will be either wood or glass, depending on the version you buy. Each one will have a front-facing logo and indicator lights on it. The back of the system is shown, highlighting four USB ports, an HDMI port, and a SD card slot. It also looks as though there is a port for an ethernet cable, not to mention one for the power cord.
Ataribox games have yet to be announced. However, this latest announcement states there will be classic and current gaming content available on the system. Exact details on the library, as well as other features and details, have yet to be announced.
The Ataribox console is currently in development.
