Nintendo UK recently stated during a Nintendo Labo demo session that they have been approached by several schools about using Labo as an educational tool. [Thanks, Gameindustry.biz!]
Of note in Nintendo Labo’s various functionalities is the Toy-Con Garage function, where simple Toy-Cons can be programmed to function using the Joy-Cons and the Nintendo Switch screen.
Nintendo did not say anything about the results of those talks, but Nintendo would likely need to create a Labo-specific SKU to turn the Switch into an education tool. Minecraft: Education Edition is an example of a successful conversion of a video game into something for the classroom, but Microsoft had to set up an entire department just for that version.
Nintendo Labo is available on Nintendo Switch.
