Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3’s Heroes & Heralds Mode Comes Out On December 19

Capcom has a meaty update planned for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Heroes & Heralds Mode adds over 100 cards, which players can use to customize their fighters. You get to pick three cards, which are based on different Capcom and Marvel characters. Mega Man, X, Jin, Cyclops, Blade, Dazzler, Godot, and Howard the Duck are some of the cards you can collect.

Each card is ranked in terms of rarity either C, B, A or S. Cards give characters abilities like an air dash, turning invisible, and super armor (that lets you absorb one attack without being stunned). It appears one card changes Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 from a 3-on-3 fighting game to 1-on-3 as seen in the Magneto vs. Arthur battle and another card lets Phoenix Wright withstand a beam attack (and he’s not in turnabout invincible assist mode either).

Capcom also announced two more features for the PlayStation Vita version. Players can download replays from the leaderboards and watch matches. You can also use the Vita’s touch screen to control the PS3 version of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Players can assign four attacks and tap the screen to trigger moves similar to the customized controls for Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition.
