Watch: Beam rifle aiming in Mobile Suit Gundam: MS Sensen 0079

I’m not entirely Gundam crazy, but after seeing a gameplay video of Mobile Suit Gundam: MS Sensen 0079 it has my attention. The clip reminds me of one of my favorite arcade games, Virtual On, with motion control. But I imagine it will be a more visceral experience than moving joysticks since you are mimicking actions like slashing a beam saber with remote and you have to manually aim each of your shots light-gun style. The concept looks solid and this is a prime example of a way to use the Wii remote controls to create a new experience rather than using controller shakes to replace button presses.

Let's hope Namco Bandai brings this outside of Japan soon!
