Watch: Boss battles in Eternal Sonata

Only a few weeks after Blue Dragon comes out Namco Bandai is going to release Eternal Sonata in North America. Combat in Eternal Sonata is kind of like Star Ocean, since you can freely run around the battle field and select strikes with the face buttons. As long as there is energy in the meter on the left hand side of the screen Allegreto can continue to dish out sword strikes and Beat can shoot arrows. It isn’t just button mashing there is some strategy to the system too. You do different attacks if you stand in well lit “light” areas and patches of shadow.

This video of one earlier boss battles should give you a good idea of what to expect and past the break there is a second video further into the game. Beware though! There are some spoilers in the second video.
