Watch: Gears of War opening movie

At the event I had a little time at the end of the night to try out the game’s single player mode and I taped a clip of the first movie in the game. Unfortunately there is no sound because it was shot in the middle of the party and the audio was wired into headphones. But it will give you an idea of how the game blends seamlessly from cut scenes to action.

Past the break is another Gears of War video from a multiplayer match. In the final build there is a new feature that shows how much time you have left to revive a player. It is useful for team games to see who you need to save before they expire. Players that are shot down have to press the A button to keep their heart beating, which extends the amount of time they can be revived. At the end of the second clip there is some close up chainsaw action.
