Wattam, the next title from Katamari Damacy creator Keita Takahashi, shows that the greatest part of a friendship is in blowing things up, encouraging players to gather up their pals for a quick explosion that will send everyone flying and laughing.

Players will continually have new friends arriving to the world of Wattam, from toilet people to living telephones to hungry trees. These beings, while they may not all speak the same language or know how to communicate with one another, all enjoy a good explosion, which the Mayor can always provide with his endless supply of exploding presents. Anyone caught in these blasts will be sent spiraling across the map, leaving a trail of smoke and laughter.

This design was built from Takahashi’s own observations of his children and how much they enjoyed knocking things over. Through it, as well as a look at people from all walks of life and backgrounds getting along, Wattam looks to give players a silly group of unlikely friends and have them simply enjoy their time with them, following them on whatever ridiculous adventure happens to come their way.

Wattam is projected to release in 2018.
