After a small break for Golden Week earlier this month, Famitsu is back with two weeks of video game sales from April 29 to May 12, during which the Switch surpassed the PS4 in total unit sales in Japan.

The #1 best-selling software of the two weeks was Days Gone which sold 45,864 units on PS4. It was the only PS4 title to score in the top-10, with the rest being Nintendo Switch titles. There’s been numerous milestones with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate hitting 3 million recently, but charted #2 with 33,842 units sold in the two weeks. Minecraft isback in form with the #3 spot after selling 28,369 units.

In other domestic milestones for Japan, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! & Let’s Go, Eevee! recently hit the 1.5 million and Super Mario Party reached the 1 million marker. Splatoon 2 also reached 3 million not too long ago.

In hardware sales, the Nintendo Switch was by far the best-selling hardware with 83,471 units sold in the last two weeks for a total of 8,125,637 units sold since its launch in March 2017. The PS4 sold 17,646 units plus an additional 12,357 from the PS4 Pro. The PS4 consoles sales combine for 8,077,756 units based on Famitsu’s trackers, meaning the Nintendo Switch has surpassed the PS4 family’s total sales in Japan to make it the country’s current best-selling console. The PS4 released in Japan in February 2014, so it had close to three years of a head start.
