How to get Belome Temple key in Mario RPG Monstro Town

After arriving at Monstro Town in Mario RPG for the first time, you may have been wondering how to get the floating Key that sits on the hill above the village’s welcome sign. To get the Belome Temple key in Mario RPG, you must enter the second blue door in Monstro Town and speak to the Thwomp NPC inside the room.

Once you have spoken to the Thwomp, you will need to have Mario jump in the air a second before the NPC slams into the ground. If done correctly, the Thwomp will say “Don’t you dig these vibes?”. You will now need to have Mario repeat this sequence by talking to the Thwomp and continuing to jump before he hits the ground. After you get the “vibes” dialogue three times, exit the room.

Walk through the empty Belome Boss room with the green exclamation mark button, and hop on the smiley face spring to progress to the next area of the temple. After taking the green pipe you will be in a room with a yellow block. Hop on the elevator and travel to the top of the tower.

At the top of the tower you will see the blue-hooded Shaman NPC and a gold statue of Belome. Take the left exit of the room and then re-enter it to reset Belome’s tongue. Using Mario, jump under the statue’s tongue to trigger the “Mmm, I’m so hungry! Wish I had something to eat!” message.

Exit the room once again to reset the statue. Finally, use Mario to hit Belome’s Tongue to trigger the “Sorry, I’m not accepting visitors past my bedtime message.” You will now need to re-re-trace your steps and head back to Belome’s empty Boss Room.

As soon as you enter the boss room, you will now see a golden Belome. Interact with the boss, and he will ask you for the key. Slect “give him the key” option. Belome will then disappear after eating the temple key, giving Mario access to his treasure chamber.
