Wipeout Spiritual Successor Formula Fusion Will Turn To Kickstarter For Funding

  In a new developer diary, Ian Anderson from design studio The Designers Republic talks about the studio’s involvement with Formula Fusion, a futuristic racer intended to serve as a spiritual successor to Wipeout. As you may recall, The Designers Republic was the studio that gave Wipeout its identifiable look.   The clip, embedded above, will be part of developer R8 Games’ forthcoming Kickstarter campaign, which will go live in two weeks. Prior to announcing their Kickstarter, R8 said they were facing difficulties finding a publisher that has confidence in the futuristic racing genre.   R8 Games have already begun discussing some of the features they have planned for the game’s crafts, that they will hopefully be able to implement. On Facebook, the studio stated: “You will be able to fully customise your craft; skins and components, through the garage. You will also be able to sell your craft to the community through the auction rooms (at least that’s the plan).”   “We want to encourage community ownership and creativity. Our experience with Midnight Club will help with this aspect.”
