Society looks down on those without magic, which is what has made life so difficult for Janis. Despite keeping to an asylum for most of her life, the 13-year-old girl is still constantly bullied for her lack of powers. One day, a powerful mage and commander steps in to save her, which sets off a series events that will have her getting closer to the other people in her asylum and around the city.
