Yes, Tecmo Koei Is Porting Samurai Warriors 3 To PS3

Early scans from Famitsu have the scoop on Samurai Warriors 3Z, a PlayStation 3 version of Samurai Warriors 3, which was originally announced as a Wii exclusive.

Samurai Warriors 3Z has HD graphics and three new new characters to use: Aya Gozen, Fukushima Masanori, and Gracia. Tecmo Koei made a total of ten new scenarios for musou mode. Seven come from characters who didn’t have a scenario in the Wii version plus three for the newcomers.

Since it wasn’t shown in the Famitsu article it is believed that the Mystery of Murasame Castle mode, a feature based on an old Nintendo game, will not be part of the PlayStation 3 port. Tecmo Koei is adding new modes, one of which has a second rare weapon to procure.

Samurai Warriors 3Z heads to stores in Japan on January 27, 2011.
