Youropeans have suction cups for feet. This allows them to walk along surfaces no matter what angle they may be at. Going upside-down has become a daily occurrence.
As one of these humanoid creatures, you need to use your evolutionary abilities to traverse a topsy-turvy floating city that has been overrun by the menacing Onesiders, all in order to rescue your friends.
They’re the star of Youropa, which is a 3D puzzle platformer that’s been a spare time project about four years, maybe more. Now, it’s up on Kickstarter as the small team behind it are looking to spend more time on it and get it finshed at last.
Youropa is all about creativity and exploration. You’ll be given access to a number of tools to overcome the game’s challenges, including pogo sticks, flashlights, basketballs, and trashcans.
The puzzles themselves often involve avoiding Onesiders by walking around them, but you’ll probably have to manipulate bridges, pistons, and wheels by hitting buttons and panels to do so.
It’s also a game of great customization, letting you design your very own Youropean, and it also comes with a level editor. Plus, paint is a major component in the game, acting as your health indicator on your body, as well as being found in spray cans that you can make graffiti with that opens up special abilities and secrets.
There’s a lot more information and pictures over on the game’s Kickstarter page. If you want to grab a copy of the game on PC it’ll cost you 100 kroner, which is about $17. You can also vote for it on Steam Greenlight.
