Back in January we learned that former head of Sonic Team Yuji Naka joined Square Enix. The Sonic the Hedgehog creator shared an update on Twitter, revealing that he’s currently working on an original action game.
Here’s Naka-san’s English tweet:
Thank you for your birthday message. Today I’m 54 years old. How many games will I be able to make by the retirement age, including the original action game that I’m currently making at Square Enix? I’d like to work hard to develop a game that everyone around the world can enjoy. pic.twitter.com/s74WdzWswc

He went on as lead programmer for Sonic the Hedgehog and maintained his position as the head of Sonic Team until his departure in 2006. He founded his own company Prope that went on to develop titles such as Digimon Adventure on PSP and Rodea the Sky Soldier for Wii, Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS.
