Monkeys and fantasy mingle in the Record of Piposaru War

piposaruwar.jpgI love the name of the upcoming PlayStation Portable Ape Escape RPG. Sarugetchu Piposaru Senki: The Record of Piposaru War is cleverly named after at the high fantasy anime, the Record of Lodoss War. The first screenshots over at Famitsu show the monkeys whacking skeletons with wood swords and playing tennis. These mini games allow players to earn extra experience and money to purchase new weapons. Details are still unclear about how this glues together to make a cohesive RPG. I’m on pins and needles waiting to find out.

  • In all honesty, the Ape Escape series is probably one my favorite Sony franchises ever. I know when I get the new one I’ll just be running around, swinging that net and trying to collect ’em all, but I just can’t stop.

    It’s like crack.

    Crack monkeys.

Actually, it’s not named after Lodoss War; “Senki” (war record) is a more common word in Japanese than it is in English, and is used in several games. The most recent off the top of my head is Idea Factory’s Agarest Senki.
