Out in the open, AQ Interactive owns XSeed Games

Ever wonder why Victorious Boxers Revolution got localized for North America? Cavia developed the title and they fall under the growing AQ Interactive umbrella. Unbeknownst to most, XSeed Games is also part of the AQ Interactive family.

I found out about this awhile ago by reading AQ Interactive’s financial report statements, but I thought I would save the news for a terribly slow news day. However, I can’t save this anymore since the acquisition was made public during a GDC presentation by Feelplus. I suppose this makes XSeed Games the prime candidate to localize AQ Interactive titles and the increasing number of RPGs coming from the respective studios linked by the AQ Interactive label.

Let’s see what could (strong emphasis on could, none of these have been confirmed or even mentioned) come out from XSeed in the future by looking at AQ Interactive's releases. Anata wo Yurusanai, an adventure game for the PSP, Away: Shuffle Dungeon, Blue Dragon Plus and in the distant future Mistwalker’s next Xbox 360 game, Cry On. AQ Interactive also handled Pororon! Docomodake DS, but chances are slim that a game starring a mascot from NTT DoCoMo will ever get localized.

I thought Xseed was going to become a throwaway publisher, but they’re putting out some notable stuff and this news is even more exciting. I wonder if they’d ever distribute a Mistwalker game, considering the companies AQ is associated with now.

I would _love_ Away: Shuffle Dungeon to get localized.

And I thought “Anata wo Yurusanai” would never see the light of day in the U.S. this is great news. AQI is just getting bigger and bigger arent’ they, it’s a nice thing to gather more talent.

@Aoishi00 - Hahaha thanks for subtle the spelling correction.

Aoshi00 Says:

@Spence: Did you misspell anything? I seriously didn’t notice it, lol, I’m just always used to putting parenthesis around any title, didn’t mean to be picky or anything :)

Spencer Says:

@Aoshi00 - Don’t sweat it. :) I realized I made a mistake when I looked at what you wrote in the quotes.
