A Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Demo Is Ready For You To Download

By Spencer . April 30, 2009 . 4:08pm

If you have a PlayStation 3 and a US account you can download a demo of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on the PlayStation Store now. The file clocks in at 198MB and gives you access to six characters for offline multiplayer play only.

Strider, Ryu, Chun-Li, Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Wolverine are selectable in the demo. And no, you can’t select Iron Man three times. You have to wait for the full game this summer to do that. Speaking of Iron Man I wonder if his infinite combo still works…

Unfortunately, Xbox 360 owners don’t have a demo yet, but they will eventually since every single Xbox Live Arcade game has a demo.

Well it kinda dissapointed me that you can only play it with 2 players local…
No Multiplayer/Computer to fight with is kinda boring… =/

  • Even though I’ll get this, I’ll still aim to get the PS2 version. I’m a fan of being able to earn the extra content (like characters) so I’m disappointed that it’s just all there. But I do understand that Arcade titles have to be a certain size and what not, but still…seems like more of a cash cow option then them actually giving a damn that we want the game.

Get the Dreamcast version. Afterall, the arcade game basically ran on one.

      • I had it once, however, I have really small hands and it’s hard to play on Dreamcast controllers :( And I don’t own any arcade sticks.

I know XBox Live Arcade games have mandatory demos, but it seems strange that the Sony Blog mentions that the demo’s exclusive to PSN. Probably a timed exclusive?

  • I downloaded this demo, what a let down it was! I had no idea it was offline multiplayer only…I hate these demos that don’t give you a single player option, so foolish…

They said they’re keeping all the infinites in. They’re only removing game breaking bugs and glitches like the Gambit flying out of the screen. I’m guessing stuff that are banned in tourneys (which infinites are not), since this is going to be in EVO from what I read.
