Marvelous Entertainment Publishing A PS3 Game (Update)

By Spencer . June 16, 2009 . 8:00am

Update: Marvelous has requested an article update.

When Yasuhiro Wada, President of Marvelous, said “If we do that [game] we might go bankrupt,” he was saying that as if we were to create a PS3 game with Grasshopper now we might go bankrupt.

The title in the second quote, “We are making it, but if we make everything then it’s a little too risky.” Is not referring to a Grasshopper developed game. Wada-san was saying they are working on a PS3 title, not a Grasshopper game, just a PlayStation 3 title.

I asked to clarify if the game was Rainy Woods, which was previously announced as a PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 title. Marvelous is working on Rainy Woods, but that was not the title Wada-san was thinking of during the interview.

I apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

We’ll have more news from Marvelous soon starting with an interview with Yoshiro Kimura, the Director or Little King’s Story.

Well, if Marvelous is feeling like taking HD risks, I wish they’d look into picking up Cry-On.

No More Heroes for Sony’s new motion controller?

Ok I know that is a bad joke but seriously, this could be very interesting.

No More Heroes on the PS3 would be amazing…

ugh, with risks of going bankrupt? don’t bother, I value my Marvelous games too much by now.

I hate to bring up a question that sort of relates to how I was banned from GAF.

But would it be a good idea for this game to be downported to the Wii? Considering outside of style, Grasshopper isn’t really a hardware pusher, most likely due to their usual low budgets, so I can’t imagine such a big downgrade… right?

It’ll be on both platforms, and isn’t NMH Grasshopper’s biggest success? So shouldn’t the Wii be the safest platform for their games?

Also, was this game known for a long while? I know Grasshopper was making a PS3 game, but I didn’t know it was published by MMV.

    I’m just tossing out a suggestion. :)

Grasshopper has made somewhat of a name for themselves in this gen. I think Sony might actually have paid them for the exclusivity (which would at least partly explain where they got the money to make a HD game in the first place, and also why it’s not appearing on 360 too).

      Just a possibility.
