Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Going Multiplatform

By Spencer . December 18, 2009 . 2:05am

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Going Multiplatform V-Jump just revealed a trio of Naruto games including Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2, which is being made for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. If CyberConnect2 is still the developer (it looks like it), Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 will be their first Xbox 360 project. Other Ultimate Ninja games were exclusive to PlayStation platforms.

The scan also announces Naruto Shippuden: Kizuna Drive for PSP and Naruto Shippuden: Full Throttle Ninjutsu! Chakraush! from Tomy for Nintendo DS.

All of these titles are tentatively scheduled for release next year.

Is this a wise decision? I mean, this game will mostly sold in Japan anyways.
And being PS3 exclusive in Japan is the best decision! Less costs of a 360 development.

Why am i being such a PS3 fanboy.

Thats awesome, new ds and psp, and PS3! don't have to get the first then! ^_^

  • Aoshi00

I haven't gotten very far in the first game unfortunately, didn't like some of the missions.. but those battles against Gaara's one tail form and Sannin look amazing in the trailer, need to go back to the game.

Good news, “Item shipped” for FFXIII from Play-Asia, yippee! If I paid $20 more and got it from NCSX, I would've been able to play it tonight though… for now the battle music is playing in my mind..

Didn't Ubisoft have the rights to Naruto on the 360? I wonder if that means an end to that series of games.

  • Dark_Sage

This is fantastic news for Xbox 360 owners. I absolutely loved the first (well, the fighting and graphics, that is… I'm going to pretend the story mode never happened), so the more people that get to play this series, the better.

  • endaround

I thought that was only NA. But anyway Ubisoft might then be the publisher of the 360 game in the NA.

  • 311

Yep shipped, dude you gotta see this ppl are never happy… lol

Games based on popular anime's like Naruto should be multiplatform from the start. I dont know what the developeres were thinking making these games PS exclusives.

Its totally retarded on thier part.

  • sasuke222

This is amazing i was kind of upset the Naruto Storm 1 was for Ps3 only now i don't have to buy a ps3 for this game.

  • jarrodand

Naruto games now sell better outside Japan than in actually. UNS PS3 only did 80k in Japan btw.

  • MisterNiwa

    Im a fanboy. >:(

  • levani22

yessss yesss yesssssssssssss xbox 360?? yessssssssssssss i have 360 yeaaaa its cool having it on 360 yessssssssss awesome .

  • levani22

awesome .i dont have ps3 but have 360 now i can play best naruto game on xbox 360 cool .

  • ihatenoobs

no noob, Ubisoft has nothing to do with this game

  • ihatenoobs

this is a really bad decision, I dont know what the hell CC2 is thinking…but what can you do about. oh well

  • endaround

You don't understand how publishing rights work do you noob?

  • 7sasuke

this is good and bad more people can buy it but the 360 disk dont have as much room as on ps3

  • eliel

    thats pretty cool i havn't bought the 1st 1 but i'll b w8ing 4 this 1(part1 had a fun demo)…

It would have been cool if it was for Wii too…

  • http://twitter.com/Slashlen Slashlen

I don't see why they would make it for 360 without being able to release it in NA, and I don't see why Ubisoft would publish a game that directly competes against their own series. My guess is that either Ubisoft lost the rights(or at least exclusive rights) for the 360, or they've given up on developing their own and are willing to settle for a share of Ninja Storm 2's sales.

  • sasuke222

That would never work unfortunately. Wii doesn't have the power to play this be happy Wii has the clash of ninja series.

  • xking2

    YES!
    Thank you lord baby Jesus.

Now all I need is the impossibly improbable Disgaea 3 multiplatform release and I can stop being depressed.

You're right! Ubisoft published and developed two Naruto games. Neither of those came to Japan though so I suppose they didn't have the rights there.

Viz gave Ubisoft the rights which may have lapsed now. They acquired Xbox 360 rights like three something years ago, I believe.

Well, the first week sales of Narutimate Accel 3 almost outsold the LTD for Narutimate Storm which has been released for almost a year.

They just want to make sure this time it will succeed. Even though the 360 version won't do anything in Japan, in west coast, especially US, it will.

  • Yuan

Well, Wii has Tomy monopolyzing Naruto games there…

  • MisterNiwa

Mine will arrive the 22nd of December, but still gotta wait til the 24th. :D

    Heck im happy.

  • MisterNiwa

    *cough*
