Introducing Irem’s First Retail PS3 Game

By Spencer . December 26, 2009 . 12:55pm

imageR-Type and Disaster Report developer, Irem, has been mostly making PSP games. In 2010, Irem is leaping into the current generation with their first boxed PlayStation 3 title.

Don’t get too excited. It’s a sequel to their long running pachislot series. Pachipara 15: Super Beach Tale In Okinawa 2 is slated for March 18. Last year, Irem released a pachipara game as a PlayStation Network download. Next year, they’re trying the same thing in stores. Baby steps, Irem, baby steps.

  • Everyone must start somewhere, and this seems to be a good starting point

  • nyobzoo

    where’s Steambot Chronicles 2?

    • JalexDiamond

I agree. I’ve been waiting for new info on ‘Steambot Chronicles 2’ since TGS 2007, and still nothing.
Hopefully, it drops in Japan in 2010 and the rest of the world not long after.

      • Famitsū, I think that’s what it was, had a small article about Irem’s Bumpy Trot 2 earlier this year. I didn’t read it myself, but I believe it did say they were on it – no mention of progress or anything else.
They’ve been too quiet about it, but I do hope to see something come out of it. Although the first game wasn’t quite the “sandbox” gameplay people were saying at the time, it was a lot of fun and has potential to be a strong and lasting series. I still need to try out the PSP game till then.

    PS3’s first garbage game? C’mon Irem…

      • cowcow

ok bubbabutt give me an example of a garbage game worse than pachislot

        • Haze, lol

          • cowcow

lol have you ever played a Pachislot game? It’s pure torture worse than Haze. And this is coming from someone who generally hates FPS.

          • OK, you got me; I’ve never played a pachislot game. But it sounds like it’d just be mindnumbingly boring, not actively BAD like Haze…

  • EvilAkito

I hope their second retail PS3 game is Bumpy Trot 2.

  • As much as I enjoyed Steambot Chronicles, I wouldn’t mind seeing another Raw Danger (or that third game that was never released in N.A.). It was leaps and bounds more fun than the first Disaster Report game.
Irem has a knack for at least making interesting characters and settings.

Screw this S**t. I wanted Bumpy trot 2
