Namco Bandai Cooking Up Pac-Man Pizza Parlor?

By Spencer . January 26, 2010 . 11:05pm

pacmanpNo, not an actual pizza parlor with Pac-Man serving dot filled pizza pies to colorful ghosts. We’re talking about a game called Pac-Man Pizza Parlor.

Seems like that’s the case since Namco Bandai filed a trademark for Pac-Man Pizza Parlor in Europe. Pac-Man: Kart Rally, which we reported on earlier, is one step closer to reality. Namco Bandai registered that name too.

Pac-Man’s 30th birthday is this year. Perhaps, the buffet of Pac-Man games is Namco Bandai’s way of celebrating.

Well that’s not too exciting. Am I the only one who wants another game like Pac-Land? Does anyone remember the Pac-Man cartoon that existed in the 80′s (90′s?)? I remember watching it on the USA Network and then, much later, being shocked to find that Pac-Land was based on it. Or rather, that the cartoon had been based on Pac-Land. It’s odd how Namco has never done anything with that game like a remake or a new installment…

…or one of the best games ever IMHO, Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures. That was absolutely brilliant, I bought both the SNES and the Genesis versions to get both of the retro-games. The game sold rather poorly if memory serves me, but it was so creative and entertaining; like Maniac Mansion but more streamlined and without the multiple commands.

It’s games like that that make me truly miss the 16-Bit era. Though come to think of it in light of the DS’ gimmick, why hasn’t Namco ported The New Adventures to the DS?!

*buries head in hands* Why…? When will the madness end?! Let Pac-Man be Pac-Man, do not want mini-game, half-a**’ed cr*p bl**d*-h*ll gr***rgh! Sigh… wait, it’s Pac-Man’s anniversary? Oh, well… guess releasing games is a nice way to celebrate that fact, even if it’s ********!

By that logic though, Mario should stick to saving blondes named Pauline from Giant Apes on skyscrapers.

Pauline was a brunette. Besides this is just my opinion, might be biased in that I’m not particularly fond of the Pac-Man character in general. Then again I am against hating on the subjects of Siliconera posts, so I apologize for the outburst. By the way, spin-off games like Mario Kart are a few hundred levels above Pac-Man’s spin-offs in allround quality, IMO.

Aw, the title got my hopes up for an actual pizza parlor.
