Originally released in 1989 for the PC-8801 and PC-9801, Wanderers from Ys would later receive ports to several consoles like the SNES and Genesis as well as a Playstation 2 Remake. It would also be reimagined as 2005’s Ys: The Oath in Felghana which is currently available on Steam.

The game itself is a fairly direct sequel to the previous Ys games, and features Adol and Dogi returning to save the latter’s home town of Felghana. The perspective has switched from the previous games nearly-top down view to a side-scrolling one, and is compatible with the Switch Pro Controller and Handheld mode.

Several songs from Nihon Falcom properties like the Ys and Trails series recently appeared in a DLC pack for DJMax Respect V. Meanwhile, Village Vanguard also started selling a set of merchandise featuring Ys characters back in September 2023.
