Atelier Judie: Alchemist of Gramnad Port Conjured For PSP

Remember the pink haired girl from Gust’s New Year’s card? She’s a character created just for the PSP version of Atelier Judie: Alchemist of Gramnad. Since she has amnesia we don’t know the new character’s name.

Atelier Judie begins with an alchemy accident. After a goof up, Judie is sent 200 years into the future and her goal is to get home. Whether she achieves it or not is up to you since the Atelier games tend to be non-linear. Aside from optimizing the graphics for the PSP’s wider screen, Gust expanded the ever changing Phacta Temple. In the expanded PSP port, this dungeon is twice as big.

Atelier Judie: Alchemist of Gramnad is scheduled for April 8 in Japan. Since we missed out on the original game, Atelier Judie would be a brand new title for North America if NIS America picks it up.

Xeahnort Says:

The best atelier game after Viorate

Thanks a lot GUST

TheCleaningGuy Says:

Never played an Atelier game before, should I?

fdark Says:

NiSA, bring this to the USA, pretty please.

Xien12 Says:

Marie and Elie please.

Annie was my first and I loved it. Look around the site for a playtest and see what you think. :)

Ereek Says:

That depends on what you're looking for.

Mana Khemia 1 and 2 (AKA Project Atelier 9 and 10. Yes, they are a part of the main series) will probably be the easiest to get into, but are also the furthest derived from the originals. If you want a nice “transition” game, the first Atelier Iris has enough elements of the “traditional” Atelier style but still is enough of a traditional JRPG that it won't alienate you.

That said, a more “traditional” Atelier game is a bit closer to Harvest Moon. You play Atelier for character development and item creation rather than the battle system. if you want to jump right into the more traditional series, Atelier Annie is the only one released so far in North America, but Atelier Rorona is scheduled for sometime in the summer.

My personal favorites are Marie and Viorate/Violet and I haven't tried Judy yet.

Ereek Says:

Seconded. Oh so much.

shirokiryuu Says:

Looks pretty interesting! I might pick it up. I've only played Atelier Annie, and I really liked the sort of slice of life elements, but I didn't like the actual RPG stuff that much.

BK0000 Says:

It would have been nice if they had redone the character art for the game. It really looks outdated, especially in the screen that shows the new girl and has a shot of Judie in the text box.

Somato Says:

Awesome.
Here's hoping that NISA picks this up. =3
The Atelier series is by far my favorite and I would love to be able to play this in english.

shion16 Says:

well……….im not a fan of GUST ports, mana khemia have one of the most annoying loading times of the PSP.
so…………if they fix that it could be a good game

Tim N Says:

They should just take the battling out of these games entirely. I have fun in Annie just micro managing.

holyPaladin Says:

Oh more Atelier nice..

Somato Says:

I still like the combat that's there. Sure, the combat systems in most GUST games could probably use some improvements, but at least it gives me something to do between synthesizing items. XD

trackssnow Says:

I enjoyed atelier annie and both mana khemia games a lot. Hopefully this atelier title and maybe other previously released titles get picked up for localization.
