Level-5 And The Puzzling Black Box

Level-5 recently filed a trademark for something named “Black Box” in Japan. The name is registered in both Japanese and English, and written several different ways, including “Black Box,” “Box” and “B-O-X.” Level-5 are looking into opening an office in North America, so perhaps this is a projects they intend to self-publish overseas?

What can you think of related to Level-5 that this could be? We’ve already got Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box. Perhaps Black Box is another service of some sort, like ROID?

  • Can’t they just go back to developing Ushiro? ;__;

    • Nico87

      Agreed. All they do is keep releasing sequels for whatever.

    • My same thoughts too. I am really interested in that game. =/

    • Artavasdus

      This. I really hope Ushiro hasn’t been canned for another Inazuma sequel or for that Sengoku Baseball, it had a truly interesting concept and even its art direction was remarkable.

    Level-5 just keeps on announcing things than actually publishing them.

      here here. I’m especially annoyed at the state of western releases. 3DS is on the horizon and we still haven gotten the original Layton trilogy, let alone the second trilogy (which is up to the second game in Japan right?). Come on L5, get it together! Hurray up with those Layton western puzzles, or at least make a team specifically for that purpose.
