Take A Look At Europe’s Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep’s Collector’s Edition

By Ishaan . July 22, 2010 . 7:16pm

Birth by Sleep Collector's Edition Eidos France have let slip that Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep fans can look forward to a very cool special edition package when the game releases this September 10th. The package includes a 48-page artbook and a set of art prints in special packaging.

Reader Tony, who sent us the tip, points out that the collector’s edition box is a modified version of the Birth by Sleep: Ultimania! guide in Japan. Thanks for mailing in!

Clearly you win this round again my Euro friends. A 48 page artbook now that’s extra $$$ (err euros) worth paying.

  • holyPaladin

    Very cool box
    orz to SE Europe

  • Why America doesn’t get it?! D: Lucky Europeans.

stuff in europe is more expensive in the currency exchange. We often also get stuff like manuals in color whereas you guys usually get black and white ones.

  • MizuMikomi

And we get a set of decals… I bet I am not the only one who would prefer the artbook instead…

Could not agree more, Japan got a LE console, EU (for once) gets a nice LE game and what do we get? Stickers that resemble an actual LE console, that way everyones PSP can be special (which is like saying no ones is). Nothing like getting the booby prize.

  • wohooa!! darn why just Europe T.T

  • cowcow

lol there’s no Disney characters on the cover…

  • doubleO7

It seems that Europe gets all the cool collectors editions these days.

    • not cooler than little big planet 2 collector’s edition.

  • Not bad, not bad.. Hope the book is sized decently

  • Why’s everyone talking as though we’re not getting this?
    Stay positive!!!

    BTW this looks VERY good.

We don’t even get FF13 collector’s edition here so I doubt we’ll see this here.. I wonder why they dunt do it here at all

  • DemonicX

    Wow..how come we don’t get that..? >_<

Better not be overpriced like the FFXIII one. That was overpriced for not only a fairly lame Collector’s Edition but also for a lame game, too.

    • the collection edition cost 29.03 on amazon uk. The normal edition cost 22.85 on shopto. Currently they don’t have the collection edition up so I’m waiting for them since they might sell it for a pound or two cheaper.

      • That’s why I like to buy in Amazon uk

        • Although I would rather buy it games from shopto due to the fact that they send off preordered game pretty early than anyone else, it seems that they’re not going to sell the collector’s edition version since all retail store i know seem to have it up beside them. Anyway I want the collector’s edition so I don’t have a choice but to buy it from amazon. Never liked buying game off amazon ever since they scammed me by disguising a game+preorder gift as a limited edition and lowering the price 2 days after release. Anyway its 6 pound cheaper than play who is selling the limited edition as rrp.

Chances are, the artwork is the stuff that’s in the Ultimania already so if you own the guide or checked out the Kingdom Hearts fan sites, YouTube, etc., you’ve already seen the pics. But still, I suppose having it on printed paper to hold in your hand is something some people like. *shrugs*

Incidentally, Amazon.co.uk doesn’t seem to ship video games outside of Europe. The best bet is to order it and have it sent to a friend’s address and then sent to you. Probably cheaper in overall to do it this way than to pay premiums on eBay (especially if you can get the free domestic shipping in XD).

Looks nice though as usual the West gets CG cover art while Japan remains the only region that ever sees any of the amazing (and always better ) hand drawn art. Such a shame……

  • KHSoraKeyBlade

As soon as I heard about this I pre-booked it. I rarely get special editions of games because there so hard to come by in Ireland without going online.

  • is it coming to ireland ?! :DD

    • KHSoraKeyBlade

Yep I pre-booked it from gamestop but you can order it from amazon.co.uk because they’ll ship it over here as well
