Ratchet And Clank: All 4 One Announced, Includes 4-Player Co-op

While its Fall 2011 release date is far off, Sony and Insomniac are beginning to pull the curtain back on their plans for the next Ratchet & Clank. Titled Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, the game features splitscreen and online 4-player drop-in-drop-out cooperative multiplayer. Ratchet, Clank, Captain Quark, and Dr. Nefarious are playable characters.

All 4 One is in development at Insomniac’s newer North Carolina studio. You can check out a debut trailer for the game from Gamescom, embedded above, which should look pretty familiar to Ratchet & Clank fans.

My first impression of the title (before reading anything about it) was that it was a Playstation HD Classics Collection title. There were four original, non-port Ratchet games on the PS2, right?

the art style seems a bit different in this one. Anyways, this looks like its made of awesome. It just makes me giddy as a school girl…(just so you know, i’m not a girl)

I agree this new one looks amazing, and thats saying something since the last two were near CG quality.

  • Pichi

So glad that its local co-op as well! Need more local co-op games.

  • why ratchet and freaking clank?! is not like i didnt enjoy it, but i like the “jack and daxter” style of characters more…

    • Gio32k

Uh..cause Jack & Daxter is made by Naughty Dog and not Insomniac?

      • thebanditking

Exactly, Naughty Dog is too preoccupied with Uncharted these days but thankfully Insomniac still loves the platformer genre and these characters.

  • thebanditking

My only concern is does this have a single player campaign? Or at least a story to play through. I love Ratchet games but if this is another R&C Deadlocked type game then I’ll be pretty disappointed.

    • Joanna

Yeah, I’m wondering the same thing. I don’t mind if they are just highlighting the multiplayer, but I’ll be sad if this only has multiplayer, or a very bare bones single player. :(
