Tabata Talks About The 3rd Birthday’s Costume Damage

Hajime Tabata, Director of The 3rd Birthday, tweeted more about the costume damage system. When Aya rests at a save point or accesses a headquarters her clothes automatically mend themselves. This also means Aya’s hit points are healed when she reaches either of those destinations.

Aya’s clothes are also restored after an overdive, the ability that lets Aya jump from one soldier’s mind to the next. This makes sense since each unit on the battlefield has their own life bar. Whether Aya controls them or not, units can take damage from nearby Twisted.

After Tabata talked about all of this he asked Tokyo Game Show attendees to play the game normally instead of just testing out the battle damage.

Lol I thought they said that You can choose not to restore the clothes back to normal xD

Dude! Even if you can, why would you restore her clothes back to normal? That’s the money shot ;-D

So your clothes are literally your HP in this game, then. Not really big on cheap fanservice like that, but I don’t really care as long as it’s a good game.

So will I be able to give her a winter coat to greatly increase her HP?

Actually, if you think about it, the game takes place in New York City during Christmas Eve 2012. So… why isn’t she in a winter coat? (Don’t answer.)

Like Sailormoon fighting Queen Beryl in the North Pole :)

You know Toriyama drew Crono and gang to be wearing winter clothes, too bad they didn’t show up in-game at Death Peak and such…

Please let me answer. Here we go:

She isn’t “outside” physically but instead in an Overdived State. She is inside CTI HQ most of the time and if ever she will be going outside she has a white coat for it.

The mitochondria keeps her firey warm.
(It’s been forever since I played PE, and even then, only PE1, so forgive me if I got this fact wrong lol)

The only thing I dont like is aside from the early poster of Times Square (which was just a conceptual painting) I haven’t seen a background remotely reminding me of NYC yet like the original PE did
