Behind The Scenes Of Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2

CyberConnect2 have quite the collection of Naruto manga. In the first part of an ongoing behind-the-scenes features for Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2, they show off their huge media collection and reveal how they gather data on overseas and Japanese fans before planning their games.

You can catch part 2 here.

  • Asura

    Bearded guy creeped me out.

    • Aoshi00

He looks like Takuan monk from Vagabond, has a very kind look :)

  • Aoshi00

Wow, that’s some dedicated and passionate developer who actually love the manga for which they’re making the game for, and the quality shows, not just milking a hit franchise by putting out a mediocre “game”. It’s nice to see they actually respect Kishimoto-sensei too, the creator of the original material.

Those sliding shelves! So that’s what missing from my home to hold my manga and Jumps :)

    • cedo66

      ya they respect the manga

    • I actually dont think any of the Naruto games have been mediocre, I dont have over 8 games for nothing! lol. Im impressed they have all those Jump’s!

      • Aoshi00

Oh no, the Naruto games were quite good I agree. I just meant so many of the anime properties that were quick cash-ins, like tons and tons of DB games. I dunno, sometimes there’s just so many it really feels saturated like “not another one!?”, I don’t even care about DB games anymore. I say quality over quantity. Of course the difference btwn Naruto and DB though is it’s ongoing and still has new material, so they don’t feel like total rehash.

      • None of them? Really? I thought some of the Clash of the Ninja games (and their japanese counterparts) were pretty lame and just being released for money money money

        • As my review for Clash of Ninja Revolution III on Amazon states, Clash of Ninja Revolution III is the BEST fighting game on the Wii, hands down no questions asked. All of them are pretty fun and true to the series, sure not CC2’s level of proficiency, but still great.

          • (Citing an Amazon Review seems kind of silly because the chances of anyone on here actually having read that is slim >_> ) But Clash of the Ninja Revolution III is not all of the CotN games. Just because one is good doesn’t mean they rest are, so not a great refutation :3 . The first one gets extra points because it was the first US Naruto game, but the second one was just meh.And in my opinion and most others’, Tatsunoko vs Capcom surpasses CotNR III as the best fighting game on the Wii, along with Super Smash Bros Brawl if we want to count that in the same genre. I mean, let’s just looks at GameRankings, which I know doesn’t mean everything, but it certainly means something

    • That’s exactly the conclusion I came to when I was thinking about why this game looks so awesome while other manganime games look lack-luster. These guys are fans of the series. They’re not doing this as just a job and so feel disconnected to the source material. They really know what’s up for the series

I had sliding shelves put into my home for my manga and they’re still almost filled -__-. But CyberConnect 2 seemed to have like 5 different copies of each manga volume. Could you imagine if they were making a one piece game and had 5 copies of all ~60 volumes plus? Shia-

  • ZOMG they have like my dream job! Id give anything to have access to all that NARUTO! Zomg, this game is going to be awesome, no epic to the utmost extreme!!! Believe It!!! They are doing the Naruto license great justice!!!

  • [The Hunter] Doomrider

    Here’s part 2!

Hiroshi Matsuyama seems like such a cool person, he seems so excited about the stuff they do, it’s kinda inspiring. And he does a horrible Naruto cosplay too

  • Aw, man. Looking at Part 2 it seems they changed how you travel through the overworld in this game. That’s unfortunate. I really liked how it was super-open in the first one.

    • Aoshi00

I much prefer this perspective/camera angle though, more cinematic I think. I didn’t like the open world in the first game because it was too much like Rise of a Ninja, too big and open and I didn’t know where to go.

  • shion16

ive finally bought a PS3 =D!!!!And this is my main target!!!!

about the video ………Hiroshi “Piros” is my role model

  • karasuKumo

I love the noise he makes when he shows the CC2 scroll XD. He and all the staff seem like they really are in love with the series. I love how that employee was laughing at his colleague when he was saying how much he thinks about Naruto lol

  • joesz

Who is with me that the bearded guy in the video can easily become the next company’s CEO.

  • I dont know if they’ve shown it before, but that flying form of – cant think of her name – the origami girl looked too live!!! These next three weeks are like waiting at a bus stop…..

SN: went in to pre-order UNS2, DJ Hero 2, and Vanquish, which all release Oct19 and tha guy couldnt believe i was spending so much on games at once. I just love Playstation :)

    • How can you forget Konan’s (the paper shinobi) name :( So many people always forget her :(
