Venus & Braves Remake Includes Tales Characters Like Yuri

By Spencer . October 25, 2010 . 10:36pm

imageIt appears Namco Bandai has a remake of Venus & Braves in the works. The original work, a PlayStation 2 tactical RPG, was designed with an interesting permadeath system. While the main character was immortal, his party members would age and eventually pass on.

Multiple blogs claim Dengeki PlayStation broke the story about the Venus & Braves PSP remake. Reports state there will be a great number of differences including Tales cameos. Collette from Tales of Symphonia, Yuri from Tales of Vesperia, and Leon from Tales of Destiny are said to be in the game.

Scans supporting the news have not been released, though. We’re searching for ‘em to confirm.

I’m liking this.I like the concept of your characters pass on while you still live on.

So on which console will this game be.please not psp.

    • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

This device should definitely be used in more video game narratives.

I wanted this game so bad but they never released it stateside. If they’re remaking it, hopefully we’ll get it this time!

      My thoughts exactly.

Same here. I was hoping someone would localize it here when it was first announced on the PS2. It has a really interesting story concept back then. Alas it was never meant to be.

There is Tales character now and knowing Namco they won’t let a good publisher like Xseed release it because of that.

  • Ereek

    That sounds rather depressing.

    • Code

Yeah true, unless they can have babies, then there genetic code will always live on and belong to me, mwuahahaha!

      • http://thrust-the-sky.deviantart.com/ WildArms

        NO! TO ME!!!

  • nyoron

So I can watch Collette wither away and die? Neat!

    • http://thrust-the-sky.deviantart.com/ WildArms

Aw but collete is collete >=(.

Anyway this idea sounds great. Curse the fact that is Fakeco bandai

So I get to watch my Tales characters grow old and pass away? I’d end up stop playing the game right then and there D:

D3, Xseed or Fatlus could be our only hope for an English localization of this…

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_ENLXWVEDTPOAL6IH7HZG2F6HOM hamza

      Bamco won’t allow it…

      • d19xx

Don’t give up dude. They did allow D3 to localize God Eater.

  • BK0000

I wonder if they’ll add more Xenosaga cameos.

  • Jaxx-Leviathan

Yay, permadeath! One of the reasons I love Fire Emblem and are fond of Valkyria Chronicles. Knowing my characters can die permanently makes me care more for them, do my best while playing and feel further immersed. This of course is a different sort of permadeath but interesting none the less.

Hey, I remember this game from way back when Tales of Destiny 2 came out in Japan. I always wanted to try it out, it’s nice to see another chance come by. Too bad Namco will never release it here :(

  • Extra_Life

I guess they added some Tales characters to save themselves the trouble of having to localize it…
