Exchange Quest Data And Characters In White Knight Chronicles Episode.Portable

By Spencer . January 13, 2011 . 7:45pm

imageWhite Knight Chronicles Episode.Portable: Dogma Wars has two data sharing systems. The first involves the game’s built in free quest system, which makes missions with different types of raw materials and experience points to earn.

While you could just leave it up to chance to find the same quests, Sony Computer Entertainment created a feature that allows players to share quests with other players. So, once you find a quest packed with loot you can give it to your friends.

You can even give your characters to your friends. In a multiplayer game, you can use the character exchange option to hand over a party member to another player. Why would you want to do this? Aside from being generous to a newbie, White Knight Chronicles Episode.Portable: Dogma Wars has a system where characters learn skills from other members in a group. Exchanging characters can be a way to strengthen both parties. But, be aware that a character exchange is an actual exchange. The character you send off leaves your game and enters another player’s portable White Knight Chronicles world.

White Knight Chronicles Episode.Portable: Dogma Wars comes out on February 3 in Japan.

More interested in when WKC2 will get localized.

      this ^^

seriously please localize it Level 5, you already did that with the first one, why stop now?

    • epy

Indeed. Hopefully WKC2 includes the first game with the improvements of the second and a japanese track this time around.

I don’t want it to include the first game, quite honestly, except in maybe a special edition. Why? Because I spent $60 on the first game and if the second comes with it, I basically wasted $60.

WKC2 included the complete first game in Japan. I understand your point, but it would be a little petty to hope that something that would get a lot of people into the franchise doesn’t happen.

Well, they can always fix it for America. Level 5 have a tendency to make things better when they bring them to the West. I would consider making it so you don’t have to beat the original making it better (even if I did beat it).

And the original game isn’t that expensive right now if people want to buy it on its own. I don’t know, I feel so strongly about it, I think I may very well pass on the game if part one is included. It’s not my fault if someone didn’t play the original and doesn’t fully understand the story. I did my part by making the purchase.

Yes, I’d love to see the first version with the gameplay enhancements.

I’ve the right to feel just as annoyed as anyone as I bought WKC a few times (for myself, and a few friends as presents) last year, but if this means the first iteration ends up a better game, I think it’d be fantastic.

Well, if they take out the requirement to have WKC1 clear data to play WKC2 – that would be a lazy 2nd place. Leaving the requirement there and not having WKC1 included, would be.. lolz.. very bad.

I’d love to get excited by the portable iteration, but won’t unless it gets some decent hints of localisation…

That said, WKC2 is probably my most anticipated game of this year… so, hopefully we won’t have to wait too much longer.

Oh no, they should definitely take out the requirement. If they leave it in, then, yeah, they pretty much have to have WKC1 included, because that’d be pretty crappy to buy a game that you can’t play until you’ve bought another game. However, what I’m hoping is that they do what Suikoden II did. You didn’t have to have played or beaten the first Suikoden to play it.

However, if you did, you got some characters you couldn’t previously get and characters that carried over in both games were leveled up.

          • AdamBoy64

Yes, I think punishing people for not playing WKC1 (or encouraging them to play the original, as a softer way of putting it) is not such a bad idea.

That said, I wouldn’t mind having WKC1 as part of WKC2, and get more content for the same price. Value is good. Unless they did make it the price of 2 games… lolz.

“…A system where characters learn skills from other members in a group. Exchanging characters can be a way to strengthen both parties. But, be aware that a character exchange is an actual exchange.”

Yeah this is pretty dodgy and I can see some people having their characters stolen. I think I’ll keep my character to myself thanks :D

Would love to see this being released in the west for the story reasons alone.
