Honestly, considering what the PSP can do….this is pretty crap.

I’m still trying to figure out what appeal it had on the 360.

      Should be a PSN/XBLA game.

Oh dear…Oh this is worrying…People not understanding why EDF is loved as a cult game.

Look, single player it’s very medicore. It’s starts to feel like Dynasty Warriors with guns, aliens and ants instead swords, samurai’s and crabs. But have a friend playing right next to you and the magic happens. The game goes from “yawn” to keeping you up all night as you and your friend try and complete it.

Even the developers of EDF are starting to realise this, hence the deal a while back where you could get two games for the price of one (I think it was this one).

So yes Ultimate_Tifa_Fan, on its own it is pretty crap but with a buddy or more, EDF becomes pure awesome.

It doesn’t hurt that the selection of weapons is wonderfully deranged in a way that only Epic Games (and perhaps Croteam) has managed to surpass. Sure, there are some “strictly upgrade” weapons, but the variety of distinct weapons is still awesome. There are portable turrets, plantable explosives, Bouncing Betties (I might be wrong about the Bouncing Betties), claymores, atomic grenades, unguided rocket launchers, guided rocket launchers, fully automatic guided rocket launchers, grenade launchers, multi-grenade launchers which shoot 40 mini-grenades at a pop, multi-grenades which let you *throw* 40 mini-grenades at a pop, assault rifles which shoot bouncing bullets… and that’s just the default soldier class. I probably forgot about half the weapons when making that list, and the Pale Wing class has an entirely different selection of guns to pick and choose from.
Yeah, the game is not exactly AAA material but it’s good fun in an utterly dopey way.

    Pale Wing is back! Whoo!

You can’t compare the graphics of this game to other PSP games.

*This game has very large open areas verses the small rooms and hallways of other PSP game.

*Its a remake or port of a PS2 game.

*The art direction is purposely Godzilla movie style.
