Now See A Fully Localized Dissidia 012[duodecim]: Final Fantasy Trailer

By Spencer . March 10, 2011 . 8:10am

With only two weeks until its release in North America, we finally have a look at Dissidia 012[duodecim]: Final Fantasy with English voice acting. Almost all the newcomers have a line in this trailer.

Aww no Gilgamesh. I guess we’ll have to wait to see if Square Enix got the voice actor from Final Fantasy XII, the only game where the multi-armed villain was voiced, to reprise his role.

The video was high on action and gave us a tour of the RPG-like world map in different locales. If you haven’t been following Dissidia 012[duodecim]: Final Fantasy the PSP prequel has an assist system (that’s why four characters are on the screen at the same time) and a Mognet connected quest maker.

Dissidia 012[duodecim]: Final Fantasy is slated for release on March 22 in North America.

  • First!! Awesome trailer! Cannot wait for this game. Hurry up March 22nd!!

  • OMG IT’S BEEN A WHIIIIIIILE SINCE I LAST HEARD YUNA’s voice! lol, xD so good that they got the same actress.

They really gave a lot of protagonism to lighting uh?, can’t say im too happy about it… And i still feel weird thinking that this is more like a “prequel” rather than a sequel in the story -.-

    • I never played the Japanese version, or read descriptions or the kind(means I can’t say much), but I feel with you, it doesn’t make sense for me at the moment that in the prequel there were more warriors than in the first game. :/

Though the game looks awesome nonetheless. xD

      • Because by the time the First game started, the other WoC got pwned out of the war. It’s only natural there’d be more fighters earlier in the war than towards the end.

        • I see, in that case I misinterpreted the wars wrong, as I thought they were self-contained and had nothing to do with the previous ones, than again, that wouldn’t made my earlier statement anymore sensible..silly me..Well, thanks! :D

          • Ren

They are but they aren’t. Nomura touched this after all. Just read Dissidia’s wikia, it will explain it better than I could.

      • When you finish the first scenario in DDFF (12th war), you’ll understand why the newcomers weren’t in the 13th war. I also take it to mean that there might be others implied that had the same thing happen to them in wars 1-11, and slowly the numbers dwindled.

  • Oh my gosh…great trailer but I am not too thrilled to hear Lagunas voice. I played VIII since it was released back in the day and never imagined Laguna to sound anything like that. I don’t know. Maybe it’s just the line or something.

    • Barrit

I know how you feel. I played Dissidia a few months back and it was the first time I heard Cloud talk. I was like whoaa, he has a deeper voice than I imagined.

      • Guest

        you never watched Advent Children?

        • Barrit

Yea, I totally forgot about that. I guess I don’t remember what he sounded like. Seems so long ago when I watched it.

          • doomspeller10

Or perhaps you watched it in Japanese? Not that their voices are that different though.

    • Well in the trailer not as much, but personally from the gameplay vids I saw of him in English, he doesn’t sound that bad. Pretty spot on if you ask me.

    • Sounds more like a voice for Irving.
I think Laguna should sound kind of like Keanu Reeves

  • I can’t wait to get this! Mmm… Tifa’s voice somewhat worries me. She seems so soft spoken and kinda high pitched for my taste in what I’ve heard from the Tifa voice actor, hopefully it was just the.. oh, what 2 seconds of speech from her but I’m hoping it will be great =] High expectations!

  • hitosura22

ummmm why does it say available March 15 only on PSN? so does that mean its gonna come out next tuesday> and then the week after comes out on the disc? someone please clarify >.<

    • Prologus comes out next week.

  • Barrit

If only all fighting games were this badass!

  • kupomogli

First time I’ve watched that trailer. But man. It was amazing. I wanted to wait for a price drop for Duodecim but I may pick it up early after all.

I guess you could say it’s a little weird, but I’m actually more excited about the inclusion of the world map than anything else. Not to say that I’m excited about every addition they’ve made to the game, but I’m excited about having a world map to explore more.

  • Oh World Map it’s so good to see you again after such a long time after 9 years. I don’t know if I’ll be able to make myself hurt Yuna or Tifa.

  • ooooh, we do get Prologus! Is this still the only way to get Aerith? N will it be coming to European PSN? Nebody know?

    • I THINK that the Prologus is getting a simultaneous release for both Europe and the US, but I’m not sure.

      • Yu_TheKing

        Prologus US Date: March 15th.
        Prologus EU Date: March 16th.

  • Prishe, Y u No Sound like Melissa Fahn?

  • cj_iwakura

That’s not the same announcer as Dissidia 1.

  • raymk

This is gonna be great =D.

  • Just wondering, but is Kain’s voice actor the same as his DS remake VA?
I never played the DS version so I wouldn’t know.
Anyway, really psyched to get this game. I can’t wait XD. At least prologus is coming next week.

    • Joanna

Yes he is, or at least he sounds the same as the Kain in FFIV DS to me.

  • ToSeektheChosen

Can’t wait, this is going to be awesome!

  • Yu_TheKing

Omegosh Finally. Anticipation Meter About to EX-plode :D

    Lightning Pwnzors All ;3

  • PrinceHeir

im glad Yuna is still voiced Hedy Burress :D

    can’t wait for this :)

    so many alternate costumes O_O

  • AnimusVox

    Did I hear Liam O’Brien?

  • I see you cut of the bit where it announces when Prologus is out.

Good to see all the new guys had lines, but the ionly new voice was Laguna’s, we’ve heard all the others in there own games. (or in Kain and Tifa’s case, media that was released aafter there games)

  • I love how that last scene with Lightning tries to replicate her sideways glance from the FFXIII trailers.
