Over My Dead Body’s Cursed Heroes Look Much Prettier On PSP

By Spencer . April 13, 2011 . 10:57pm

Alfa System and Sony are working on a PSP remake of Over My Dead Body. In this game, a demon cursed your ancestors dramatically shortening their life span to two years. The gods took mercy on your family and allowed that to have many kids hoping that one day descendants of the heroes would break the curse.

Here’s the original PsOne game…

… and more screenshots of the PSP remake.

In addition to refining the graphics, Alfa System added "many" characters and scenarios to the PSP version of Over My Dead Body. Sony has not detailed either of those or the feature which lets players carryover data from the original game.

Over My Dead Body also has a StreetPass like mode where you can exchange data wirelessly with other players that have their PSP and the game on. Through the ceremony of an alternate god, you can unite your linage with another player’s. This allows both parties to take ownership and more importantly share weapons passed down from descendants. Receiving and building weapons to pass on to the next line of heroes is a key part of Over My Dead Body.

Sony plans to release Over My Dead Body on PSP this fall.

That’s what I had said about Hyperdimension Neptunia. Fingers crossed, all the same.

    • Focus groups be cursed with 2 year lifespans
We got Muramasa: The Demon Blade though. Perhaps not all hope is lost.

    • Darkrise

And we also got Sengoku Basara, Samurai Heroes, Dynasty Warriors etc…

      • Ren

        Isn’t Dynasty Warriors chinese themed?

so this is SCEJ JRPG which the original never released outside japan, and i bet this time we still can’t hope SCEA to localize this JRPG.

  • When I first read the article I had an image of playing as 2 year olds. Whups. I’ll have my fingers crossed for a Western release, anyhow.

Gamingkind should consider itself lucky that it will never have to suffer through another Rugrats game.

But what about the one on the PSOne? I remember playing that as a kid and loving it. Great game, if memory serves. :D

Audience: “So, will you be localizing this?”

    Publisher: “[Title of game]!”

    Audience: [subdued laughter]

  • Love the concept! So many gems left on the east for the PSP, whose chances of coming State are dwindling by the minute.

This, Persona 2, Grand Knights Saga, Zero no Kiseki, Brandish…etc!

  • Still sounds and looks great, but I still don’t understand: how can these children grow to fighting adults if their limited to two years of life?

A previous article about this game stated that the curse makes you age rapidly so much so that your entire lifespan is a mere 2 years. So it’s not that 2 years, and you die as a two year old from some strange sickness/curse, but rather you reach your natural end in two years because you age so rapidly thanks to the curse. It’s not so odd to think about it this way, hey flies live for about a week. :P
