Nendoroid Generation Has Haruhi, Black Rock Shooter, Nanoha, And Fate/Stay StarsWhile the list isn’t complete, Namco Bandai revealed some of the characters in the nendoroid RPG Nendoroid Generation.

This week’s issue of Famitsu shows the following characters:

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Haruhi Suzumiya
Mikuru Asahina
Yuki Nagato

Fate/Stay

Rin Tohsaka
Rider
Saber

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha

Fate Testarossa
Nanoha Takamachi

Black Rock Shooter

Black Gold Saw
Black Rock Shooter
Dead Master

The PSP game will cover ten or so series with 1-3 characters per work. That leaves room for a sequel just in case Nendoroid Generations is a hit, one of the developers said to Famitsu in an interview. The game came into development due to the Banpresto president working with the Bandai staff.

Nendoroid Generations has a battle system where your characters can link up for chain combos, which change depending on who is in your group. Namco Bandai also added team attacks, dance mode, and communication mode which lets you tap the nendoroids on their head. Famitsu reports Nendoroid Generations is 20% complete and does not have a release date.

this is going to be kawaii as hell.

I smell Mikuru fanservice incoming… gotta learn Japanese in the meantime

  • Shuryou

Banpresto? Maybe some Super Robot Wars characters will be in it? We can only hope.

But mostly I want to see Queen’s Blade in the game.

No Kyon?? Who’s gonna be complaining every time something bad happens then?
Or worse yet, who’s gonna save everybody’s asses every time Suzumiya feels down?

    GOTY.

Don’t Panty and Stocking have Nendoroids coming out? Throw them in and you’ve got a deal.

  • Suicunesol

Excuse me for saying so, but this sounds like it could be really nice for the 3DS too. The whole “tapping/rubbing the nendoroids on the head”, inciting cries of unspeakable kawaiiness sounds like a job for a touch screen. The added 3D would juice things up too.

Mmm finally a crossover games not called Smash Bros in which I know all the characters (so far)!

  • CleruTesh

As optimistic as I try to be, this has like -500% chance of getting localised, huh?

    • doomspeller10

Don’t worry, you can always import. PSP is region-free. Of course, there’s still the language barrier.

      • CleruTesh

Cross of Venus is the only game I ever imported, due to my combined love of multiple anime, JRPGs, and Nendoroids. But I haven’t played it even once, cos that language barrier’s a bitch.

  • Apache_Chief

    Sure is moe in here.

  • chaos_ro_champ

Hmmm where is Miku XD? BRS doesnt count XD

Personally, I’m hoping that they don’t stick entirely to the cash-cow franchises. I mean, anything with Haruhi/Nanoha/B*RS on it is going to sell buckets anyway, so why not add some of the more diverse Nendoroids into the game? I mean, Raspberyl (Disgaea), the Tachikomas (Ghost in the Shell), Noel Vermillion (BlazBlue), Date Masamune (Sengoku Basara), Gachapin (Fuji TV’s unofficial mascot, kind of like the Japanese Big Bird in terms of cultural significance), Yoko (Gurren Lagann), Panty and Stocking, and even Mickey goddamn Mouse have had Nendoroids, so there’s a lot of potential for creativity here.
