The Changes To Bayonetta Chapter 1’s Vigrid Station

By Ishaan . May 9, 2011 . 5:01pm

As Bayonetta director, Hideki Kamiya, progresses into the first chapter of the game for his developer commentary, we start to see more and more talk of changes to dialogue, differences between Bayonetta and Devil May Cry, and scenes that were cut from the final game.

For instance, Vigrid Station was originally going to have a segment where you would Witch Walk along the side of a train and fight your way back to the area, finding it filled with lava. This was cut from the final version of the game, even though a lot of effort was put into the segment. As usual, Kamiya also discusses hidden items and secrets, and reveals that he wrote Antonio’s notes himself.

You can read up on more changes made to Vigrid Station’s design in this older developer post on the PlatinumGames blog.

This was my game of the year last year. Loved it. I’m surprised that there are still no teasers for the eventual sequel.

    • My favorite game of the genre, loved it. I want a sequel.

    • Best game last year just on gameplay. Loved it. Also want a sequel.

People want sequels to a LOT of the games that Platinum/Clover has made.

I for one would agree with a Godhand 2

Hopefully they’ll announce something at E3. Bayonetta’s the best game on the 360.

Would love a sequel, as Bayonetta was definitely my game of 2009 (yay for importing it :p) but I won’t be surprised to see Kamiya do something original for his next game. If I remember correctly he hasn’t directed many sequels. If no Kamiya I’d rather they hold off on making a sequel just to cash in.
