Atelier Meruru’s Ten Playable Characters Each Have Finishing Moves

By Spencer . May 27, 2011 . 4:31pm

roronaEarly magazine leaks for Atelier Meruru explain the PlayStation 3 game has ten playable characters. That’s a bump up from Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland, which had seven characters. Totori’s friends Mimi and Gino return as part of Atelier Meruru’s cast.

All characters in the game have a todome or finishing move. Each todome is exclusive to that specific character. Theme music for the character using the skill plays and a special attack animation is played on the screen. Atelier Meruru also has full voice acting for event scenes and Gust time scaled the loading times down so they are next to nothing.

Atelier Meruru is slated for release on June 23 in Japan.

This game keeps sounding better and better. Mimi kicked some ass in that last trailer. Can’t wait to see the other character designs!

  • Edgar Cumplido

Ohhh Gosh is there nothing more Gust can do to make this game better.
Excited for Totori and predict this one to come out next year heree (hopefully)

I’m still holding my hopes for Gio to make a guest appearance. You know, just to drive Sterk nuts.

    I need a PS3! Why must I be broke…

  • Kai2591

    Full voice acting!
    Next-to-nothing loading times!
I like how GUST continues to improve their games~

Bear in mind the JP tracks for Atelier Rorona were virtually fully voice acted, and Totori basically had the same.

It’s always been the case for a long while really.

Loading times is an interesting one though.

      • Kai2591

Oh. Even more good news! (for me)

Haha sorry I haven’t really played Atelier Rorona yet even though I already have it for so long, because I still have so many other JRPGs to finish (so many good ones coming out lately!)

Say, are you planning any more game playtests?

        • http://www.siliconera.com Melinda

Now now, if I revealed that, I’d get in trouble.

What’s life without a few surprises?

          • Kai2591

I look forward to those ‘surprises’ :)

Man, this might be worth checking out. But in doing so, it means I have to get the other two games. Meh, I hate the time-limit thing but I don’t want to be missing out. >_<

  • Ravage27

‘scaled the loading times down so they are next to nothing.’ This is a major improvement, well done Gust!

And more voice acting is always good news, especially since Atelier features the best voice acting in the genre

Awesome! The whole package when it comes to pulling off your awesome “todome”. Stop teasing me now, GUST! Just take all of my money!
