A Snack Sized Serving Of Localized Disgaea 4 Screens

The unfortunate news about Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten’s edited map editing system came with a few localized screenshots.

"We did everything we could to keep the original Japanese version, but with certain rules and regulations we had to modify the system for the US and PAL release," Nao Zook, PR Manager said regarding the map editing system change. "Sony was very helpful with our effort in keeping the original version. However, we had to come to the conclusion to adjust the map editing system. We can promise you all that the gameplay and the enjoyment Disgaea 4 can offer doesn’t change. I understand that many of our fans have been waiting for this map editing system, but there are more features they can enjoy via PSN. so please don’t be discouraged!"

Disgaea 4 is slated for release on September 6 in North America. PAL territories will get the PlayStation 3 title in October.

There are even more screenshots at the official site

… including some that spoil Vulcanus’s true identity and what looks like debug-mode…

    • ForeverFidelis

To be completely honest I’m kind of upset to be spoiled on the fact that Vulcanus is even in the game

This was gonna be the first Disgaea game that I went into fresh with almost no knowledge of the storyline. Before I saw this post..

      •  Um… wrong Vulcanus. Has nothing to do with the one in D1. At least I think. I have been avoiding anything on the story myself, just been looking at the playable character skills

        • Yu_TheKing

Yeah, I’ve been doing the same. I haven’t seen or read any real details of the story itself but I’ve watched the skills.

  • Shinji Kazuya

It was kinda sad but I won’t let that discouraged me. I’m sure the game will be great nevertheless.

  • I will preorder the super premium edition closer to the date. Their store seems to still take out the money and hold it from my grasp in my bank account so being down $120 is a no-no.

As long as there are no trophies that require the map editting functionality then Im happy.

  • I’m kinda at a loss for the VA for Fuka, to be honest…

    • Shinji Kazuya

You don’t like it? For me it’s okay.

      • Naaaw…the JP voice does it a lot better for me.  This one feels a little too…deep.

  • why cant they be honest and just really say what is the problem ?

  • KotaroInugami

To think, we Americans have the REPUTATION of being vulgar when given the freedom to name characters or freedom to design a level. Sad part with gamers here is 70% of the time, they are exactly that, vulgar. Such a shame. :/

    (On a side note, W00T! 100TH COMMENT!)

    • Yu_TheKing

I agree. Instead of expressing creativity and imagination the majority chooses to depict coprographia. Stuff like that causes the true potential of a game to be diminished and not completely realized.

I love those bodyguards, i can already tell im going to end up making way too many of them.
