Level-5 Looking To Bring The Entire Little Battlers eXperience Overseas?

By Spencer . July 27, 2011 . 3:10am

imageLast month, Level-5 released The Little Battlers for PSP. Like Inazuma Eleven, the role playing game also has a manga and anime series.

No plans for an international release have been announced, but Level-5 filed a trademark for The Little Battlers eXperience in the USA. This trademark isn’t just for video games. It also covers plastic models (the game came with one), animated television shows, comic books, and all kinds of related merchandise.

Perhaps, Level-5 International, the company’s North American branch, is thinking about localizing the series. Right now, they’re running a poll to gauge interest in various Japan-only Level-5 titles. You can vote for your favorite with your Facebook account here. As of this writing, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney is in the lead with Ninokuni for PlayStation 3 trailing in second place.

A tip of the hat to Liam for the heads up. Thanks!

I can honestly say I’d probably buy every currently Japan-only Level-5 game right now if they’d localize it. Ninokuni, Inazuma Eleven, Little Battlers, all of it.

    Bring it on, Level-5 International!

  • http://twitter.com/SilverCitizen Silver Citizen

My hopes have risen! This game looks sweet! Then again, all of Level-5′s games look sweet!

    • Exkaiser

As someone who’s played a good bit of it…

I can say that the game is really quite sweet! Can’t go wrong with it.

  • puchinri

    Yesssss.
Please. Please do. Give us everything~!

And I agree with the girl who wants the names kept for Inazuma. It’s not the same if Endou isn’t Endou…

  • Exkaiser

    OH YES.

Already voted and left a comment as well. I voted for Ni no Ku ni PS3 because I could only have voted for one, but I mentioned in the comment that I would also like to get the DS version as well as the Prof. Layton videogames.

Out of curiousity, what happened to the DS version of Ninokuni? Is it still gonna get localised or not?

    • http://tristsantithesis.tumblr.com/ Tsunayoshi Sawada

I was under the impression that all they said for the games was that they hoped to bring it to the West, I didnt know they officially announced the DS version.

    • Ladius

I think that isn’t gonna happen, the game requires a huge book that was bundled in the Japanese edition and localizing the entire package would be extremely problematic.

Moreover, despite its high sales (some 530k copies, an astounding number for a new jrpg) most of it happened when the price got slashed to half or even a third of the original RRP, and so far the game hasn’t cleared its original 600k shipment.

  • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

Phase 1 of their global takeover plan is in motion, eh? I’ll bow down to our new overlords if they want to release it here.

  • sandra10

Ni No Kuni (PS3) and Time Travelers are the ones that really should be localized by Level-5. The PS3 needs more JRPGs and the 3DS needs something unique (and more games in total).

    • Wackoramaco87

Completely agree! Studio Ghibli is recognizable in the West so they would have that to back it up, and the 3DS needs more variety (and as you said, games) to entice customers!

  • darkonezero

I’m so freaking stoked for a localization of all The Little Battlers merchandise that the poll is killing me. All the most popular games are practically guaranteed to be localized, while this is pretty niche.

  • http://twitter.com/IXRoxasXI Rei Fal’Cie Sanchez

    Hell yeah!!!

  • http://tristsantithesis.tumblr.com/ Tsunayoshi Sawada

I love the Little Battlers, hopefully anime and game come out. Hopefully they voice act everything.
Ni No Kuni (PS3) received my vote.

  • XypherCode

Everything! oh especially Time Travelers :P

  • SolNeko

yes please. need more reasons to pick up my psp these days.

  • http://twitter.com/mintypixel Daniel Delacruz

I would get this on day one

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Legendarydynasty-Black/100002321647754 Legendarydynasty Black

I want Ni No Kuni (PS3), Level-5. It is such a beautiful game. PLease bring to NA.

    • godmars

Been wondering where that game was. Though it was suppose to be out in Japan last Christmas.

  • SirRichard

“As of this writing, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney is in the lead with Ninokuni for PlayStation 3 trailing in second place.”

I just want to say that I love every single one of you very very much.

  • Shuryou

I only got to pick one, so I went for Inazuma Eleven Strikers. I was never a big fan of Layton or Wright and never had much interest in Ni No Kuni. But over-the-top soccer, oh hell yes, I can dig it.

  • Ladius

This is really a great news, but I wonder if they can manage to get enough shelf space for such a big package (provided they are planning to release the game with the model kit) when even regular PSP games are being mistreated by retailers.

As for the upcoming games, I would really like to see Time Travelers localized, if I had to chose a single one.

  • http://myanimelist.net/profile/Kuronoa Kuronoa

This is great!  I don’t have a Facebook account to vote, but maybe I’ll ask my sister.

  • godmars

Is it wrong to say I’d like to see this on PSN as a PS3 title?

    • http://myanimelist.net/profile/Kuronoa Kuronoa

Little Battlers series is obviously not going to end anytime soon, so maybe you will see a PS3 game.

      • godmars

Yet in the same token I don’t want to see a PS3 game. Given that PS3 production values have negative effects on gameplay and depth. At least that seems to be the case I seem to notice.

        • HarryHodd

It doesnt have to be that way. There have been many games out of Japan that have great gameplay and depth on PS3. In some cases PS3 to PSP have cuts in gameplay due controls and size of game.

    Ni no Kuni PS3 Please!

  • Darkrise

I would vote if I had a FB account. =/

  • http://twitter.com/matty_125 matty

I voted for Time Travelers (3DS).

  • mikanko

There should be an option to vote for anything with Matsuno’s name on it.  But yes, give us alls of it!

  • Room201

I was a little disappointed that I couldn’t choose more than one in that FB poll. I had to choose my most wanted of that list which was Ni no Kuni (PS3) but I hope they consider localizing most of that list.

  • kupomogli

I voted for the Little Battlers.  I’m not interested in any of the others, and it’s just sad that it’s pretty much tied third to last.

  • XypherCode

If only I could vote on all the 3DS ones. The system is really lacking content right now what more in NA.

  • http://twitter.com/benfrosh Jungo

Sorry, I had to vote for Phoenix vs. Layton, because as much as localizing Little Battlers would be the second-best thing ever, Phoenix vs. Layton would hands down be the best thing of all time.

  • Code

rar, hooray owo Great news, looking really forward to seeing Little Battlers land here. It’s a shame we probably won’t get the model kit, but still, consider this a sale Level-5 >w<' It's almost like Level 5's president heard my cries last post urging them for info on Little Battlers overseas T3T~!

    • http://twitter.com/ModelKBT Metabee

We all want LBX here, you dont speak for all of us. Also, stop saying rar and owo. >w< its getting annoying, your not a animal your a human deal with it.

      • Code

Sorry if your annoyed but, I’ve been raring around here for a very long time owo’ Sure I don’t speak for everyone, and I wasn’t trying too, I just felt it was a fun coincidence last post I was hoping for a time frame on Little Battlers, and this delicious little detail shows up >ww<''

      • http://www.siliconera.com Spencer

I’m going to stand up for Code, he’s been one of our longest and most memorable commenters. If he want’s to say rar or owo it’s fine with the staff.

        Lighten up a bit :)

        • Code

          haha thanks >w<; Much appreciated~!

  • Phoenix_Apollo

I voted for Ni no Kuni DS because that one has less of a chance than the PS3 Ni no Kuni at coming over here.

Seeing The Little Battlers would also be cool, but I want Ni no Kuni DS more (dat book!).

  • http://twitter.com/EldritchHarhaar Chad Erdman

I think some people should pick their second or third favorite game since the the top two have quite a lot of votes for some random poll on Facebook already.
(Little Battlers needs more votes, I say!)

  • Rarutos

Even though I voted for Ni no Kuni, seeing this on western shores would be awesome as well. Well hope Level 5 can do it! (And still be profitable!)

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Farid-Belkacemi/1073052585 Farid Belkacemi

Time Travelers has to be localised in Europe & NA !!

  • d19xx

How about they skip the whole voting thing and just release all their games overseas. They’ll make fans happy and rake in tons of money…..

    • Hraesvelgr

Well… they’d make fans happy, at least.

  • ManaKnight

Ni no Kuni needs localizing.  We really need more HD RPGs in the west compared to any other genre IMO.

  • kylehyde

It would be awesome if all the titles (or at least most of them) could have the same chance of being localized, however the sad truth is that probably only one, two or maybe three can have a chance.

LITTLE BATTLERS AND INAZUMA ELEVEN. Come on!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000149130267 Lyner Barsett

Let Danball Senki be release in English don’t waste the opportunity Level-5 You had great games such as Jeanne D’ Arc and even Rogue Galaxy. I’m always having goosebumps whenever I’m playing a Level-5 game.
