Meet The Heroes From Ragnarok Online’s Strategy RPG Adaptation

Ragnarok: The Imperial Princess of Light and Dark is GungHo’s second attempt at adapting the rich world of Ragnarok Online into a handheld game. There’s no multiplayer here, though. This PSP game is a story heavy strategy RPG, which is told from the perspective of different characters. You can see alternate routes by using the A.I.Z. (that’s alternate if zapping) system.

Let’s take a look at three of the leads. Cynthia is a high wizard from a noble family.

Torene is a champion and a famous mercenary.

Yuri is an honor bound lord knight.

Ragnarok: The Imperial Princess of Light and Dark is due for release on October 27.

These videos didnt show anything too impresive, but they are a perfect example of why the sound effects are so important in a RPG

  • nice art style, nice music, and it looks fun, but where is the sound :s   hopefully the final product isnt like that

  • Croix

I’ve always liked the design of the characters/classes in Ragnarok, but I’ve never seen an example of gameplay (from the main game itself or any of the spinoffs) that particularly impressed me.

  • Kitestwinblades

I’d take the 2D sprites over all the new 3D stuff any day. Voice acting was kinda strange. You godda move the community to make this kinda of franchise great. I cant really see a spin off becoming as big as the online game.

    • Exkaiser

I doubt that the intention was to replicate the online game’s success one-to-one.

  • Damn. I thought Yuri was a girl. Isara, I assume is the assassin, is hot. And that Storm Gust. Reminds me of the days spamming it in Orc Dungeon to kill multiple orcs. I was expecting Lord of Vermilion too.
