This Just In From The Atelier Daily "Journey To Find The Sister, Begins."

By Spencer . June 1, 2012 . 2:00pm

Gust released two more videos of Atelier Ayesha: Alchemist of the Ground of Dusk. The promo video above shows all of the characters revealed so far and the major gameplay features using the "Twilight Citizen" newspaper as a theme.

Alchemy is, of course, a major part of Atelier Ayesha and there are a ton of options on how you can improve the quality of synthesized items. I think the biggest change may be the most subtle. Atelier Ayesha doesn’t have an end game time limit like other titles, so you can spend a whole year leveling up alchemy skills instead of searching for Ayesha’s lost sister.

Atelier Ayesha comes out on June 28 in Japan.

    • Words have expressed that you did want it. That’s all that matters, the rest refers to the emotions you couldn’t explain. ;) You perv. =P

  • nahh its just like the other instead of meeting assiments its finding ur sister in time or game over thats retarded

    • ゆい

Stop complaining. Did you not read this article?

      • aperently u didnt see the article or the pics. only because of they still have timed events witch makes u be there or need to get be at a certain spot. hence its timed. my view get over it

        • ゆい

You just don’t understand. You’re saying “It’s finding your sister in time or game over, that’s retarded.”

The article says (this one, the one you’re not reading.)”I think the biggest change may be the most subtle. Atelier Ayesha doesn’t have an end game time limit like other titles, so you can spend a whole year leveling up alchemy skills instead of searching for Ayesha’s lost sister.” Why is this so hard for you to comprehend?

          • do the world a favor fanboy/girl dont play theses games thank you

          • ゆい

            Your last resort: Name calling.
            You are so immature.

  • This one’s looking a bit less pervy than the previous titles. I can’t wait for the U.S. release!

      • Kevadu

My thoughts exactly, though Dominic Hunter isn’t the first person I’ve heard make the claim that the Arland games were pervy.  I never really understood it, though.  I guess if you really dig there might be a couple of pervy jokes in these games, but that seems rather oversensitive to me.  Even American games throw in the odd perverted comment from time to time.  Ar Tonelico or Neptunia these ain’t.

I think some people just have the automatic knee-jerk reaction that Japan + young girls = perverted.

        • Luna Kazemaru

Only thing I get told when I’m playing it is its abit to girly thats all first time I heard someone say it was pervy.

          • I saw a couple pervy jokes and innuendo in Totori and Meruru, but I don’t remember anything of the likes in Rorona. None of the jokes were outright bad or offensive. I wouldn’t call the series pervy though because of a few jokes.

    • malek86

Heh. If anything, the opposite. Rorona and Totori were Cero A, while this game (and Meruru as well) is rated Cero B, which would imply they actually got more “pervy”.

Then again, I could never actually understand what kicked up the rating in Meruru.

    • raymk

You calling my sister a perv?  She likes the games along with me as well.

      • Yes, I am calling YOUR WHOLE FAMILY A PERV!
        (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
I’m referring to the fact that Ayesha is wearing a lot more clothes than Totori and Meruru. Also, I have yet to spot a single definite fanservice character. This is good.

  • my concern is unless this was poorly writen  aperent theres year system witch means time limit  if you dont find ur sister before the years are up its game over that how this looks

    • yalissa

A year system does not mean there’s a time limit necessarily.

And without a year system, we wouldn’t have timed events.Which is absolutely no fun ):
Well. Not like it matters. The story has to end at some point, right?

      • time events wer eno fun atelier iris series still awesome in my view i just wish ayesha had that and timed events make u rush or have to be at a certain location at a certain time making it have a time limits just to view events. not fun when ur rushed

    • GibbRS

Siliconera has already reported in a previous article that Ayesha will have no time limit game mechanic.  I remember this vividly because it was the best GUST news I’ve heard in years.  As much as I love the Arland games, I hated the strict time limit.  I was literally 2 days from getting the best ending in Totori, but I ran out of time.  I didn’t feel like going back 4 or 5 saves just to see if I could shave a couple of travel days off my time, and I didn’t want to replay the entire game to try for the best ending.

However, I do find it weird when games have progressing time, but the characters don’t get older.  Gust characters are usually pretty young (Ayesha is 17 right?) but nobody ever ages during a game.  You can spend 3 years playing Totori, but she’s still the same age. :/

      • it actully has a time limit or it wouldint have date, year ect and it does in this game meaning if u dont find ur sister in time bad ending. they want you to think it dosent have one but in reality it does

        • GibbRS

Easy there negative nancy.  Perhaps they have a time limit because certain events happen at certain times of the year.  There have been games with passing time that didn’t effect the story or ending of the game.  Final Fantasy Tactics was like that.  You could spend 4 years doing side quests and what not before picking up where you left off in the main story.  Suikoden DS and Tactics Ogre also did this if I recall correctly.

          • being honest not negitive ur the ones replying about it im just stating lol n yea there were no dought lets hope they dont have a bad ending thing

      • Same, I visited the other land, found the grave, and was making my way back! Bah.

  • AzureNova

OMG, the music and visuals in the first trailer! If that trailer isn’t enough to get this, then I don’t know what is lol =P

Day 1 here! Also, I want the soundtrack soooooooo bad lol

  • Alexander Aubert

i think the alchemy system is complicated
    LOVE IT!

  • The music is so awesome

  • ゆい

Beautiful, I can’t wait for this game! Love the music!

  • Nitraion

I love this trailer… lol Hype!!!
Edit: what she doing in alchemy i’m totally lost X_x

  • I like seeing these improvements in the Atelier series. It is something I look forward to a long future of future releases. I most notably enjoy the cell shaded 3D worlds and great textures. The attention to detail is actually quite amazing.

  • 肉@バカ夜空

    Ayesha’s “Ta~ru!’ should be adorable.

  • Carocaro4

Great looking game. the atmosphere seems to be just right for the game. i don’t know it just seems that this time around the characters and environments just are perfect for each other. loving it.

  • s07195

The music and theme of the trailer… why it COMPEL me so?

  • I think it’s a perfect time for me to start getting into the Atelier series. The animation and character design looks superb.
