Starting to sound like Carrie now.

i really like that hollywood actors are participating more and more  in our gaming industry. someone as awesome as ellen page, working with quanticdreams and   taking on the lead role. just makes that much more exciting and hopely will  bring more people to our side (you know, the hardcore)

p.s. i also would like to see the sexy actress from heavyrain, she played as madison paige (she looks very mature and most important, she hot!!!)

It’s a cool concept.. and then you mentioned Geist.

And now all I want is to play Geist.

“Everybody knows after Heavy Rain that we can tell a story through gameplay…”

“the question is more can we have action sequences with direct control”

      He’s a PIONEER

    • Roberto Armando Iraheta

Pretty much this. I like that he’s trying to bring back the whole adventure genre, but he could do a lot better than Heavy Rain. I don’t think it was a complete failure but it was far too dumbed down compared to adventure game classics.

Eh I would have liked to have more manual control over Ellen this time around instead of it being exactly like Heavy Rain

Love Ellen Page. This game is on my radar.

i enjoyed this heavy rain, but i have to say, there isnt much gameplay in it, i expected something at shenmue levels, anyways, what really bothers me is that sony america is promoting this as a game, and yet dont consider visual novels games, is pretty much the same thing.

    • mikanko

Visual novels often have more paths, and variety with their story arcs than anything Mr. Cage has released.

      • Nicolas Vasquez

i agree with you, i even prefer you choosing your path instead of beign decided if you did or not a qte, wich in heavy rain some forced you to memorize, but my point is that sony has stated that it doesnt consider visual novel games, wich whatever the reason would pretty much put this in the same category.

  • Roberto Armando Iraheta

I like some of the ideas present in Heavy Rain, but its plot wasn’t all that great and most of it felt forced. Cage is going to have to really come out of his element to come up with something to wow besides QTEs and a “mature” story.

I didn’t really disalike the gameplay in Heavy Rain, but the plot, which was all over the place when you stopped to look at it. All I want to know if that Beyond won’t leave plot threads hanging like the clothes in my closet or pull a bullcrap twist so infuriating even M. Night Shyamalan would say “Wait, what the f*ck?”

Seriously can’t wait. Not long ago I caught myself on the thought that their KARA was the best thing, for me personaly, that happened in gaming in last year or maybe even two. And it was just a tech demo. Although I would prefer they create game with that setting, Beyond looks very promising too.
Maybe some think that there was little of actual gameplay in Heavy Rain, but I wouldn’t want it any other way. Many high-budget gameplay-focused games come each year, and so few story-focused ones.
Thank you Quantic Dream and David Cage

For a game that was lauded as giving the player ‘control’, 90% of Heavy Rain’s outcomes were totally fixed. You could let the father miss every single prompt in the backwards driving scene and he still survives.

    • Speedo Redempteur

except that heavy rain has choices and actions modifying parts of the plot .. that where the player control was , not in Action scenes …

Action scenes wereincluded for variety, for tension , not for player control .

the fact that the end changes given your actions is another example of player control

“tell a story through gameplay..”… hmm with that type of gameplay i’ll stick to books if i want a story.
