Europe Gets A Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch “Wizard’s Edition”

By Ishaan . June 29, 2012 . 8:30am

Update: Confirmed for North America, too.

In Europe, Namco Bandai are releasing a “Wizard’s Edition” of Ni no Kuni collector’s edition, dubbed the “Wizard’s Edition”. This comes with the game, a Drippy plush doll, a Golden Mite and Golden Drongo DLC familiars, and most importantly, the 300+ page hardcover “The Wizard’s Companion” (Magic Master in Japan) book. Take a look at the package below:

In Japan, the Wizard’s Companion book was included digitally within the game, but Level 5 also sold the book as a separate item. Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch will be released in Q1 2013 in Europe and North America. Here’s an English trailer for the game and our impressions of the English language version.

Pretty nice bonus, need to find someway to gain access to this if it doesnt come to the US, mainly for the book alone.

  • Zonic505

Oh man, seriously hope the US gets something among the lines of a special edition.

    • cj_iwakura

      There’s almost no chance.

  • SirRichard

Namco Bandai, you stars. Definitely going to pick this up for the book and that fancy box, incredible stuff.

  • Paradox me

So, I pretty much need this.

Don’t let me down Namco Bandai, bring this to North America.

    • Anime10121

Sadly, I somehow doubt it, though I do want it, I dont see NB bringing this to the US.  For some reason JRPG’s have been getting Special Edition after Special Edition in Europe, while in the US we havent recieved nearly as many (or many at all, honestly), and the ones we do get are usually exclusive to one retailer (usually Gamestop).

I think it may have to do with US retailers being extremely picky with their shelf space, I remember some company complaining about that a while back.

  • /need ;-; Come to the US. But uhm… wasn’t the reason we (US/Eur) didn’t get the DS game was because of that book? :/

    • XYZ_JolteonZ980

I think the reason was more it was a ds game in an environment where the DS market is getting small fast.

    • SirRichard

The book was integral to the gameplay, which I guess was seen as being too awkward/costly to work/translate. Here it’s just a special edition bonus, something made in limited numbers that isn’t necessary to play the game.

      • Hmm… yah. Since it is limited. That does make sense. Thank you. your reasoning makes sense.

  • Barrit

Well since this game has no online component, I know where I’m ordering from. I seriously doubt the US will get anything like this. Europe to the rescue yet again.

  • a must have!
so bring it also in the NA region XD

  • “In Europe, Namco Bandai are releasing a “Wizard’s Edition” of Ni no Kuni collector’s edition, dubbed the “Wizard’s Edition”.  ”

    *hyperventilating* … …
This looks good, this looks damn good! … and this is really for Europe?
Sorry the question might seem stupid but… I was already nearly on my knees when Namco Bandai announced the artbook/limited edition for Tales of Graces F. And now the people in Europe get this?
I sure hope the US won’t be a exception then!

Might need a new apartment or something for all the goodness of 2013. Thank you for those really refreshing news! :3

  • MrRobbyM

Bring this here please. I’d buy this if it didn’t come over if it wasn’t much more expensive T_T

  • YES! Importing it would’ve cost me a whole lot of money. And I so wanted the book too. Call me satisfied, pre-ordering ASAP.

    Thanks Bamco!!!

    • Anime10121

That pic literally made me lol :P

Depending on how expensive it will be to import, I may have to just bite the bullet and do it as well.  Because that special edition would look fantastic sitting with the rest of my collection.

  • 3 wtf hundred PAGES, not to mention HARDBOUND. oh wow something’s at par now with a real persona compendium.

    one problem: unsufficient zenny.

  • Graces F + this, logical conclusion?  Bamco hates america and luvs EU.

    • Anime10121

If I remember correctly, I think its more that American retailers hate stocking “Anime games” unless they are Dragonball Z, Naruto, or Final Fantasy tip than anything else.

      It makes me sad too:(

  • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

    …Looks like I’ll be importing.

  • JazzyMan123

And once again, Europe gets all the great goodies while America is pretty much left in the dust.

    • Luna Kazemaru

I lol everytime I see comments like this because you all that post this seem to forget the fact that most of the time we get better crap then Europe let alone get games before then that takes a year for them just to get.

      • Great… You just reminded me of Rune Factory Oceans for Europe…. Do you know how long it took to be released in Europe after America???

8 ****ing months is the answer…. I would have support Europe’s but the wait is killing me and I had to import the US version… -____-

Edit: There’s not even a special edition to make up for the long wait… *sigh*

        • Luna Kazemaru

Now think about how long it took the Europe to get blazblue.

          • The first Blazblue???

            *Thinks for a minute*

That took almost a year to get to Europe!!! (╯ò□ó)╯︵ ┻━┻

          • Luna Kazemaru

Lol and the game was dead by then and everyone mostly moved to CS.

      • JazzyMan123

Oh, sorry then, looks I was proven wrong with that other article. So sorry for that then. I try to tone down next time.

  • riceisnice

I need that book! It’ll be my religious tomb which will confirm that I am an astute practitioner of Miyazakiyism. Where we all eat giant triangle-shaped rice and watch repeats of Howl’s Moving Castle.

  • *Looks at the edition and smiles like an idiot*

So waiting for the Europe’s release is worth it after all… Thank you for giving me a reason to care, Namco!!!!

  • Vaporeon23

Guess I’ll be importing this. I want that book! :O

  • British_Otaku

YES! I was one of the few at Namco Bandai’s MCM May 2012 who mentioned this and asked about it in a limited edition if not the DS version.

    Wishes come true.

  • Namco has really really changed in the past 2 years! THANKS!! A thousand thanks. I hope NA will get this, too! Wonderful Special Edition <3

  • KHSoraKeyBlade

    Omg. Take all my munnies.
I am definitely picking up this, I was getting the game regardless but I can’t miss out on this.

  • Solomon_Kano

Oh wow. You guys get a pretty sweet special edition here. I might consider importing.

  • Never been more proud to be a European than I am now. I just need to check which retailer is offering this and switch my pre-order. *manly tears of joy/mixed with fangirl-esque screaming and clapping*

  • Dyne

Is this joy I feel right now? I did not think this day would  come where we got a special edition like this in European.

  • ragnarok989

PLEASE give the US this too. At least some way to get the book, I don’t care about the rest

  • scratchbach

If this doesn’t come to NA, then I’ll have to import. Far too cool to pass up.
Of course, I’ll still buy the NA version regardless; gotta show the love!

  • Namco Bandai of Europe, you guys are absolutely awesome. A CE for Graces and Ni no Kuni? I am so.getting.this.

  • Monsley

This will probably be the coolest collector’s edition I’ll ever own. I really can’t wait! :)

  • aoihana

Adjust’s glasses and puffs on cigar.

Touché, Europe. With the Graces F and Ni no Kuni Collector’s Edition’s, you’re officially awesome. I wish you all many more where that came from. ( ̄~ ̄✿)

  • Roanoke834

Namco Bandai just confirmed this for N.A. on the Ni No Kuni facebook page.

Edit: Looks like it will only be through their clubnamco page.

  • Göran Isacson

A three-hundred page book. MAN is that ever gonna jack up the price something fierce… but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want it.

  • Zoozbuh

  • Keitaro004

It just can’t get better than this. Dual-audio and a limited edition box? I’m already sold
