You Can Replay Resident Evil 6’s Crossover Battles

By Spencer . July 9, 2012 . 4:32pm

resi1 Capcom has a new feature in Resident Evil 6 where four players can team up for one boss battle when storylines collide. Similar to Journey, another player’s co-op game syncs up to yours. After the battle ends, somehow players will know who helped them out.

"We can’t give details on how we’re doing it, but you will know who you played with," producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi said when demoing Resident Evil 6. "Even if we didn’t display someone just joined your game, you would probably notice the different right away when a person jumps in. The AI has improved since Resident Evil 5, but nothing beats a player and you may notice you don’t need to use as much ammo since you have another player helping you out."

You can replay any mission in Resident Evil 6 after completing it, including the cross play missions. Since Capcom tends to hide super weapons in Resident Evil games the Smith & Wesson Model 500, I asked Hirabayshi what would happen if a player loaded with more powerful gear jumped into a fight.

"Well, tuning the game so there will never be a game where you get a nuclear option and you can takeout everything with one hit," Hirabayshi answered. If a player is really good then they’ll help you out a lot, but we’re trying to keep the gameplay tuned so it you won’t miss the fun of playing the battle because the other person took it away from you."

Am I the only one who doesn’t give a crap about this feature?

    • I don’t care about the game so by extension I don’t care about the feature.

        >posting in the comments for said game.

        • I used to like Resident Evil, it’s a habit. Wasn’t even going to comment until I saw that comment.

Yet, you care enough to post about it.

        • and you care enough to not read.

Obviously, I did read it or I wouldn’t have commented. English: learn it better.

          • I sure did make only one comment in this article

I’m with you on this. Really excited about the Leon’s chapter though, but for other action oriented guys, not so much. Still, even if they made a platform game I would still buy it just because I love RE franchise and it’s characters.

Didn’t they already do this in 5?

I think what’s new is being able to play replay the crossover battles.

So, in Resident Evil 5, if you were on Chapter 1, and played co-op with someone on Chapter 3, you still couldn’t play Chapter 3 until you reached that point yourself.

In Resident Evil 6 you can play any chapter you’ve completed in crossover co-op, regardless if you’ve completed it yourself yet.

At least, that’s how I understand it.

    Okay…Still excited for this game.

Don’t really like this feature, meh
