A Good Look At Sol Trigger’s Story And Battle System

By Ishaan . July 13, 2012 . 3:02pm

Imageepoch have released a lengthy promotional trailer for PSP RPG, Sol Trigger, which gives one a good look at the game, across cutscenes—some of which were in the game’s opening movie—and its battle system, which was shown off in a separate video as well. You can watch it below:

Sol Trigger is about a fight over “Sol” energy. In the city of Kaiserhald, the Machine Church wants to harness Sol energy from the city’s citizens, and the Sol Trigger group rises up to oppose the church. In the game’s battle system, you use Sol to pull off your skills, and can even use it for powerful kamikaze attacks that take off a chunk of your own HP.

Sol Trigger will be released on October 4th in Japan.

Very awesome. Can’t wait for it to release. Imageepoch anything is always good news, especially their battle systems.

This game is looking in-cre-di-ble! This game needs a western release, most likely in the form of a digital release. If Imageepoch release games like this on the Vita, the Vita will be one happy handheld.

  • Xapth

That battle system looks incredibly awesome, almost like Persona pumped up with loads of action.

I’m really hoping this sees a release outside of Japan.

Games like this, Final Fantasy Type-0, and Digimon World Re:Digitize are prime examples of why I’m still hyped for PSP games.

  • Cero55

i wish all turn based jrpgs had this level of dynamic attacks.

  • gaiahatergaia

    my god…
It looks like Imageepooch has put alot of effort into this, i might even go as far as to say this is the best RPG on the PSP ever, and i don’t think i’ll change my mind.

Now the only thing left is localization…if Aksys, Atlus, or XSEED localize it, then my life will be complete.

    • Unknown

Hopefully this gets localized, or even better we could see a re-release of it on the vita.

If anything the Vita needs more games, its only sold about 2.5 million units, for a game console thats pretty bad

  • Cephrien

    Sol Trigger.

    PLEASE. Come to the US.

    PLEASE.

I would give you a warm home.I would play you all day and night. We’ll have great times together.–and when I’m finally done playing you, I would trade you in so that some one else can buy you and do the same.

    • Crimson_Cloud

Don’t be selfish. At least mention the PAL territories too.

  • aoihana

It’s always a freaking church, really. I mean, seriously, why do you keep trusting them?!  щ(゜ロ゜щ)

Man, Sol Trigger looks amazing! The battle system looks great, but I have to say the characters are what really draw me in. The designs are beautiful, and the seiyuu’s are just as great! (*≧m≦*)

The only thing that worries me is the possible tragedies Sol Trigger will bring, and from the looks of it, angst is pretty much a given. 。:゚(。ノω\。)゚・。

    • gaiahatergaia

      The church is good, man.

  • Mad_Dog_Yayan

It looks amazing, looks like I got no choice but to import. Looking at this, I think I’m going to be a FarelxSophie shipper.

  • Brandon001

Love the green haired girl =P I hope this gonna get localized, although I doubt that will happen….

  • RedShadoww

Dammit why isn’t it announced for the US yet?! I don’t care if it’s physical or digital, I don’t care if it doesn’t have english audio (i’d rather have japanese though), I just want the text to be translated! I want english subs when the characters talk! Thats all!! Then you can have my money! Dx

    • jaserboi

I would like that as well, and seeing as how I haven’t played my PSP in a while, and I don’t really feel like looking up JRPGs, I don’t know how many have been translated and brought to the US. But whether it be physical or digiatl, I doubt there has been many. And also due to the fact that the PSP is basically dead (I don’t see why this wasn’t made for PS Vita, but it could have been in production before that even came out or something) anywhere outside of Japan, I highly doubt that this is going to see any type of a translation. Sorry for my little ranty thing, and also sorry if I used any type of improper grammar (I know some comma’s are out of place because I am not good with them.)

  • darkfox1

Wow this game looks like a lot of effort was put into it by this trailer alone!

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Dylan-Ng/100000854638739 Dylan Ng

The telltale PSP game look is absent judging by trailer alone. Heck compare this ti Re:D trailer.

I must… I have to sacrifice more virgins to bring this overseas?

I must… for the greater good.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Dylan-Ng/100000854638739 Dylan Ng

      NO. Sacrifice your wallet instead.

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Maan-Bantiles/100003037035258 Maan Bantiles

You know there’s a reason why I must sacrifice virgins right?

        I don’t have a wallet anymore.

  • Abel.exe

First Final Promise, now this. Imageepoch should really localize their games!
