Summon Night 5 Being Made By Record Of Agarest War: Marriage Developers

By Spencer . July 23, 2012 . 12:10am

imageWhile Flight Plan has been dissolved, former staff created a new company called, Felistella. Their first title was Record of Agarest War: Marriage, which came out on July 19.

Felistella is now back on the Summon Night series developing Summon Night 5 for PSP. Before Summon Night 5 comes out, Namco Bandai will release ports of Summon Night 3 and Summon Night 4. Felistella is handling these too and adding new elements to both game.

Summon Night 3 is set for release on October 4 and Summon Night 4 is slated for November 15. As of now, the Summon Night titles have only been announced for Japan.

Flight Plan, are you sure you want Idea Factory ruining your series?  They’ve yet to develop even a single good game.

    • BlackWatcher

They’ve only developed one or two bad games yet, and neither of them got localized.
Fix’d you, man. No need to thank me.

      • landlock

Well Cross Edge was pretty terrible and that was developed by Compile Heart who are part of Idea Factory. Blackstone: Magic & Steel was another stinker. Other then that they aren’t too bad.

Most of there games are simply average IMO though.

        • Vampiric

           there vns are top notch

          and agarest was incredible

          • landlock

Yeah Agarest is one of the better series’

Kupo kupo kupo, need I remind you that we have plenty of folks here who do enjoy IF and even CH games. We all have things we like that someone else hates. But as the article even says, Flight Plan is no longer in existence, but folks from them formed a company who made Agarest: Marriage.

      Please read before you post.

      • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

        Plain IF hater there lol.

    • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

You do know that Flight Plan is no more there and many of us love IF and CH game here don’t you?

    • Ladius

They’ve developed many decentgood games, the issue is that most people won’t bother to research their lineup or to play their titles, instead judging them for their poor budgets or the alleged importance of fanservice. Siliconera itself tested their most recent western outing, Agarest 2, and the results were quite positive:

That said, your remark is off topic since Idea Factory has nothing to do with this game: as the article explained, it was Idea Factory who gave Agarest Marriage to Felistella, which is one of the two companies started by ex-Flight Plan employees. So, you should ask the (now deceased) Flight Plan if they are ok with their own team developing a new game in their old flagship series.

    • Laura

Idea Facfory has nothing with Summon Night and Felistella is an independent studio. Oh and Idea Factory has been getting better over the last years, their games now are good than they used to be. If you don’t believe me then try to play Spectral Tower and after that try to play one of the Idea Fatory new games like Agarest and you will see the diference.

      • M’iau M’iaut

But Laura that would actually require him to play a game before giving an opinion on it, and he apparently can’t even consider himself obligated to read a 3 paragraph news brief.

  • Oh boy…. here we go again, my body isn’t ready yet though….

    • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Lol are you hating the game or loving the game there?^_^

      •  Lol I always welcome a new summon night games XD

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Considering that this game is still developed by most of its old employees there, i don’t have any complain here lol.^_^ Hell, i am even assured more here considering that with Bamco resource and Felistella experience there, who knows if this game is going to be one hell of a game again.^_^

  • Hans Satori

release it in gawd damn english..

    • PSP game = Super low chance of localization.

  • Vampiric

    1) idea factory is greatm the hate is ridiculous

    2) The rest of the employees split into appollosoft which just completed ragnarok tactics, and did the srpg blue roses

I think its great they split into 2 seperate companies, more games

    • Ladius

I’m really interested to see Ragnarok Tactics, it’s a shame NISA left Blue Roses in Japan :(

      • Vampiric

         tell me about it

  • IshimaruKaito

i had summon night: twin age….which other summon nights tht didnt come to the US should i import?

    •  play the 2 swordcraft story games on the GBA

they are about 10000% better overall than twin age

’tis a shame that we missed out on the 3rd GBA title though, and fan translations have been very much delayed to the point of non-existence

  • Good, agarest marriage is surprisingly a good rpg game, putting the almost ero stuff  and all that normal fanservice stuff, it actually has a great pace in battles and graphics, im expecting a good game!

    • Daniel Morandi

I seriously dislike the art and plot in Agarest Marriange, I think is one of the worst Agarest. But I won’t say anything in case of Summon Night, they could do a good job there.

  • Solomon_Kano

Never played Summon Night, but it’s cool that it kinda came full circle for them. Might not be the entirety of Flight Plan’s old staff, but it’s cool that the series is back in familiar hands.

  • . . . as long as it keeps the yuri elements from the swordcraft series lol

seriously, never played any agarest war games, so i have little to no way of really judging them (outside of some rather lackluster scores from reviewers and gamers a like). All I do know is that it has some romance elements to it, which does remind me of the GBA games, and brings back some fond memories of Pratty and Sugar~

so yeah, if it has some yuri romance options, then I’m at least a little interested. . . granted it even is released in the west lol
