    can’t wait

This game is just a surprise to me in general. From what I’d heard, the first one did horribly in the US. Then we get news that it’s coming over to the US, even before we got news of a Japanese release (even if it was a given). Then we get no other news of it for a while, and now it’s suddenly slated to release by the end of the year. Go figure.

      Tecmo-Koei work in mysterious ways.

It didn’t do amazing but it didn’t do “that” bad. Sure there are issues but it seems like Koei is fixing them with what’s already announced for Ken’s Rage 2 on top of all the new content.

    • Mr_SP

Yeah… It “only” sold 120,000 in English speaking countries across 2 platforms. So… Not so horribly. For a translation job, that’s quite profitable. I’ve seen games that sell much less getting translated.

      • Muffum

Huh. S’pose that’s what I get for not looking into it myself.

  • xAKUM3TSUx

i LOVED the first one. Still play it too…what u got a problem. One word- Overpowered!

  • Andrew Austin

Do the right thing an release a physical US version, please.

  • Katamari Toys

    You are already bought!

  • Tales_of_Master

Good thing I skipped the first game :D

  • Sardorim

Loved the first game, will be getting this since they seem to be adding in a lot. Also like some of the announced changes that help deal with some of the issues the original had.

Glad to see this series isn’t being dropped.

  • Mr_SP

Dash? Ken’s Rage’s one big point of irritation, solved? Great!

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

For people who is trying to complain about this game there, think first.^_^

    Or……..^_^

Good to hear that they’re going back to flesh out the first part of the manga out some more too. Over at Koei Warriors’ forum, it’s been confirmed that the likes of Colonel and DEVIL REBIRTH have also been spotted, along with newer characters like Hyo and Han. Lynn/Lin and Bart/Bat will also be playable. While Lynn will also using projectile type weaponry like Mamiya, it’s not yet known if her clothes getting torn will be as fanservice-y. Dream Mode also returns.

The gameplay will also be “faster” and more “Musou-like”. Hopefully, that hints more at the fact that they’re just going to speed the gameplay up a bit, without taking away the actual “weight” behind the blows.

Anyway, count me in. It wasn’t a perfect game, but Hokuto Musou was easily the most fun I had with Koei’s Musou games in years. These refinements already sound like it’s on its way to being even better.

  • Spirit Macardi

I’m glad to hear that they’re expanding on the first series rather than adapting the post-Raoh material (which was rather disappointing).

Now, what we really need is a vocal version of Crystal King’s Ai wo Torimodose to be added to the soundtrack :D

    • Tre W

Oh, but they ARE incorporating the post-Raoh material, too! It just means that overall, we’re getting a much more “complete” Hokuto product this time around, since they’re apparently going to cover everything.

Ideally, that should make for much more interesting “Dream” mode scenarios too (which is a mode confirmed to be returning). Raoh and/or Toki getting the chance to punch their big brother Kai-oh in the face? Who WOULDN’T want to see that? 8D

      YOU WA SHOCK!

    TWICE the content??

wowit took me forever to beat the last game!

  • CasualGamer

I hope they fix the sluggish combat movements and add more enemy types. That’s kind of Koei’s ingrained flaw though so I don’t expect much. And why would Raoh’s arc return when it was the focus of the first one. I hope they don’t just cram the same cut scenes with some extras. Still it’s my favorite manly franchise so I can’t wait.

  • eilegz

now add online cooperative like warriors orochi 3 and im so happy, i felt that the game was not bad a lot of fanservice but the gameplay was very slow hope they improve on that too

  • kupomogli

Yes!  I can’t wait to suffer through more repetitive slow paced tedium as Ken and the gang!

  • Ronald Bixler

I’d still like to see them make a Fist of the North Star game using the combat engine from Godhand.

Give me Juza and give me Fudoh, and I shall be a happy camper.
A Falco is fine too, for Dolph Lundgren reasons.
