Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Intro Doesn’t Stay In The Realm Of Reality Very Long

By Ishaan . August 13, 2012 . 10:43pm

Namco Bandai have released the intro video to Tekken Tag Tournament 2. Since this is Tekken, it isn’t surprising that it goes from realistic to fantasy-like very quickly. You can watch it below:

I hope I’m not the only one who glad they used the first Tekken Tag Tournament music intro. Too bad they didn’t stick with the character select theme to the first game as well.

    • popyea

I do too! I absolutely adore the first tag tournament intro.

    • puchinri

Yes~! That stuck with me throughout the intro, and made me very berry happy.

  • konsama

That was just awesome, think it’s my favorite Tekken intro now.

  • Go2hell66

holy crap, haven’t been following this game much but wth just happened in that intro? monsters and angels and everywhere? i thought this was tekken 0_0

    was pretty awesome though

    • Mister_Nep

Tekken has always had humans, robots, demons, animals, etc.

      • Go2hell66

lol really? well i’m not exactly the biggest tekken fan

        • Mister_Nep

Yeah they have bizzare people like Kuma (a bear), Jack (a very muscley robot), Roger Jr. (a kangaroo), Devil Jin (a demonic Jin), Mokujin (a wooden training dummy), and such as fighters. After a while it just seems natural to see them in the game.

  • Solomon_Kano

    Well, that escalated quickly.

  • Jack Oz

I’ve heard it’ll be longer than this apparently. Not sure if it’s true. Regardless, I actually like the fact they used characters that don’t get enough screen time. My props to Tekken.

SOON TO BE THE BEST FIGHTING GAME EVER

  • Setsu Oh

i still can’t stand their humor, specially when they can’t provide strong story content. another tekken i won’t get.

    • http://wiredjungle.wordpress.com/ DrakosAmatras

……The “story” of Tekken started with a father throwing his young son off a cliff in order to verify if he was really his own son or not. I really don’t think Tekken is remotely interested in providing “strong story content”.

      • XiaomuArisu

        I like the storyXD
the jackie chan homage, the weird comedy,Lee´s EXCELLENT!
Its much better then Mvs.C3 thumbnail picturesXD

        • Setsu Oh

all those comments saddens me ‘we are fine like that, if u donot like it go off somewhere’ and here i thought p4A outselling fighting games with its 40 hours of story changed something……even the videogame world lacks interest in the new…

          • XiaomuArisu

Do you know Blazblue? Its from the same guys which did P4A.That game has a story!
BTW The only fighting game that disapointed me with its lack of story was Mvs.C3.They said:”We hired some of the best Marvel writers! Our Story wont be getting in your way,but it will be better then other games!”
            I was hyped,got disapointedXD

          • Setsu Oh

yea i know no i don’t like. some chars design horrify me and there is just one char i really like in it so…..no, not interested.
i guess cap read comments reacting to someone asking for more story and in the end didn’t bother.

it always bothers me that when i ask for something that would justify me buying the game, people who don’t need that to buy it express their contempt with things as they are. disregarding the fact that a story doesn’t rot the gameplay because it stays in a mode versus gamers do not go anywhere near : the ‘story mode’ . to begin with.

they are fine with their blt, i ask for some beer on the side they say the blt is fine as it is.

what difference can my money make anyway? they don’t need it apparently!

      • Bloodmeat

Agreed. I mean, it’s like Anime craziness level.

        • http://wiredjungle.wordpress.com/ DrakosAmatras

Hell, if I were somebody who’ve never heard of Tekken before, and only jumping into the scene now… I’d probably even consider its “story” to be a parody of general fighting game story continuity.

        • Setsu Oh

           SOME of them yea

      • Setsu Oh

its a family tradition. see there is story here already i just want more of it.

    • puchinri

If you don’t like Tekken, why did you come to the thread? And if you were just going to say you weren’t going to get it, why bother commenting? ^u^

Personally, I like having fighting games that are just about different kinds of fanservice (SSB, Tekken) and don’t need a story, and love having fighting games that do have story/continuity (Darkstalkers, KoF). There’s nothing wrong with both existing, so long as both are made by teams that are looking to provide quality content. (I like that the Tekken team actually uses real martial arts, etc and has solid gameplay. . . and the customization is fun too. And bowling.)

      • Setsu Oh

where in the comment do i say i didn’t like it?

        • puchinri

Your words and tone seemed to be a heavy implication. Or maybe you just meant you haven’t picked up a Tekken game in a long while~.

          • Setsu Oh

i did, but i didn’t buy one in a long whille(3 &2) there is a big leap for me between try it out at an accointance’s or shop, go watch the endings on utbube AND buy it. details to so many of tekken gamers not to me. fluffy story, easy in game bucks making mechanics, nice non obligatory minigames and i ll buy. but that’s not where hirada wants to go.

  • French

Love the crowds reaction in the face of demons and angels and snakes and ninjas in the crowd haha

  • Speedo Redempteur

a truce ? Ah ah ah typical

  • Göran Isacson

I’m just curious as to what Yoshimitsus feelings on his two enemies/frenemies teaming up is… also, Angels versus Demons. Just your averag day in the Tekken-verse, really. That and Jinpachi having troubles finding a cab that can accomodate his huge frame.

  • LiamMusume

I wonder what Angel and True Ogre are going to do with the prize money!!

  • http://twitter.com/alixraen alixraen

Can’t wait for Gamescom and the new info that will be revealed there!~

  • Valtiel Ikari

Jinpachi is awesome and he knows it.
Nina and Anna’s roles are reversing in the new installments, before (Tekken5 and below) it used to be Nina the one to always attack her sister.
Kunimitsu, u no tag with Yoshimitsu!?
Ogre: guess who got more than one snake arm… IN THE SAME ARM!
Angel: B1tch please, your snake arms got nothing on me, I’m fabulous!
that’s one awesome fighting event ,the realm of reality is overrated.

  • thundergodCN

Audience: sees a demonic ogre and angel going at it.
    Audience: …(seems legit)
    Audience: YEAAAAHH

  • Kitestwinblades

The Crowd is obviously full of Diehard Tekken Fans XD

I paid GOOD money to watch the supernatural go at it!
laser beams and fire breath be damned x3

Less than a month till release :3  Definitely gets me excited.

    • Syn
