Yuji Naka’s Studio Prope Is Making Digimon Adventure

By Spencer . August 22, 2012 . 12:54am

Fragile Dreams developer Tri-Crescendo made Digmon World Re:Digitize, but they aren’t working on Digimon Adventure. The upcoming RPG that covers the original Digimon anime series is being made by Prope. You know, the video game studio founded by Sonic the Hedgehog creator Yuji Naka.

Naka announced Prope is the developer of Digimon Adventure on Twitter and wants fans to enjoy experiencing the charm of the original series when they play the game. Digimon Adventure will be Prope’s first RPG.

Namco Bandai and Prope have been working together since Ivy the Kiwi? and they asked Naka to develop a fishing game which became Fishing Resort. Digimon Adventure will come out in 2013 for PSP.

    Lovin’ this.

  • pgover

Wow, that screenshot brings back a lot of memories of watching the original series back in the day.

  • Raharu95

*Grins like a child* “Such nostalgia. It feels so good. Ido hope i can get this game in my hands someday

  • Silver Citizen

That’s cool and all but what the hell happened to Rodea?!?

    • Herok♞

It is finished they just need a publisher.

I’m really liking the graphics, they look just like in the TV show! Too bad it probably won’t get localized :/ I’d be fine with just a downloadable PSN version.

    •  Fitting as well as it is celshaded. To capture the anime look more.

Yeah, I actually just finished re-watching the series in Japanese, it still surprises me how well the characterization was for its time(and it didn’t matter that the dub in my country was horrible until Vamdemon arc). And the soundtrack just fills me with nostalgia.Just started watching 02, but almost solely for the original Chosen children.

  • I wonder how the combat system??

    Or *insert command then attack*??

  • Tales_of_Master

Man, I can get over how awesome these graphics look. At this point there is nothing to say about the game, but to hope it get localized. Just the idea of being able to go through all the sagas of Digimon Adventure (It was a long and a badass series even by Digistandered) makes my mouth water :D

  • Ben Sylvia

It sucks this will never get localized and I don’t have the time or effort to learn Japanese.

That screenshot looks great! Brings back a ton of memories. I wonder if they’ll be making games that directly follow the other seasons of Digimon as well. Tamers happens to be my personal favorite.

the last 4 Digimon games weren’t localized. something tells me we won’t get this game in english either..

  • i want this game

  • tha_Chiller

cmon man u_u, this is unfair

  • Spirit Macardi

What I would do to see this in English…

Better yet, if the English version contained the ever-familiar: “Digimon, Digital Monsters, Digimon are the CHAMPIONS!”

  • puchinri

Well, when first hearing the news I was kind of excited, and then not as much so hearing that Taichi is the main protag (well, I felt the implication was that we could only play as him). But, hearing that Prope is behind it has changed my mind. Officially interested, probably will get it.

  • Colonel Custard

    Suddenly childhood relapse.

  • I was originally skeptical about this game, but … I don’t think I can resist the call of Digimon and Season 1 and everything that comes with the package.  At all…

    *staaares and drools*

  • konsama

I loved Re:Digitize, so i suppose i can trust Bamco on this one too. And i love it’s based off the first season and not the terrible Xross Wars.

  • Nice one.. Hope that it would be translated in English..

  • Fahd Al Zarooni

  • Red Tygon

No chance it will be translated to English, Bandai nowadays seem to be keeping the Digimon franchise to themselves lately!

  • Steven Higgins

Want so much! But can’t read Japanese. T_T

  • Nope Nope

It’d be nice if they could bend the canon so that the non-greymon and non-garurumon lines got acess to their Mega levels too.

  • hope this game come out to US&Europe”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
