Okami HD Trophy List Is Filled With Dog Jokes

By Ishaan . August 31, 2012 . 12:01am

Capcom have released more high-definition footage from the Japanese version of Okami HD, showing another story scene that folks that played the PS2 and Wii versions should find familiar. Take a look at it below:

Okami HD will be released in North America this fall for $20. You can find a list of Trophies that have been added to the game here. It’s filled with dog jokes like “Barking up the Cherry Tree” and “Who Let the Dogs Out?”

Ah, “Who Let the Dogs Out?”. Not only a great moment in music history, but also played at my 5th grade dance, which the P.E. teacher DJ’d dressed as Elvis.

Thank you, Okami, for bringing up such.. fond memories.

A doggy is nothing if he dooon’t haaave a booone…

      • Paradox me

Oh God, it’s like war flashbacks. Make it stop.

  • Bakuryukun

Sweet everything on the trophy list is stuff I already did in the PS2 version, I can totally 100% this!

“Who let the Dogs out”? Are you kidding me? That’s a horrible song, absolutely horrific. The song was made as a corporately family-friendly to licensed for (bad) kid movies while insulting REAL rap music.

& now it seems like it was made to play at every damn dog show in existence because people think they’re being funny.

    • Nemesis_Dawn

Well, luckily, that abomination of a song isn’t in the game. As a trophy name, it’s actually quite funny.

    • Peace Legacy

May be that is because ‘Who let the Dogs out’ never even tried to be a rap song, and never listed itself as such? -_-
“That’s a horrible song, absolutely horrific…insulting REAL rap music” which is a horrible, absolutely horrific genre that insults REAL music. So nothing of significant value was lost.

  • Matthew Dickinson

I wish they’d add the song to the game!

    • Nemesis_Dawn

      Please no.

  • isfuturebright

They should have released this remake on X360 too since there’s already PS2 version for Sony. But I’d guess there’s some kind of deal with Sony/Nintendo for rights of this game.

    • Nemesis_Dawn

I believe the rules state that we aren’t allowed to request games on a particular system.

      • isfuturebright

ahm sorry then. I was just wondering why Capcom wouldn’t expand this franchise to X360 since Konami did that with Metal Gear Collection :) my bad

        • M’iau M’iaut

All is good, it’s just console requests can all too quickly turn into console wars. These are our posting rules so you can understand why we have our guidelines.

No problem :) I’ll keep that in mind

  • Zonic505

Decent enough trophy list to the point I’ll get more gameplay time than when I played on the PS2. Now I just hope for a more solid release date than “October”.

  • Historiata

Wahahaha, interesting, though I never really understood the significance of the trophy system. I won’t be picking this one up in interest of the Wii version already in my possession, but I hope newbies enjoy this fantastic game!

  • Herok♞

Cool Trophy list, but I already have it for Wii so I don’t see a need to get this, except to support another sequel because okamiden was fantastic.

  • Alice Pennell

I wish they wouldn’t taint good games with things like trophies

    • Chris CCCD

Whats so bad about trophies? It gives the player more incentive to play the game to earn them.

    • Nemesis_Dawn

I wish people who didn’t care about trophies/achievements wouldn’t spend their time wishing those of us who do couldn’t have them.

  • Happy Gamer

Man I cannot wait. This was one of the few games I remember back when Okami dropped I was SOOO eager to play and when I did, was just blown away.
It was also during my phase of “man I think I am too old to play games, I don’t find them as fun anymore.”

I wasn’t too attracted to the Wii port plus it hadn’t been that long since I played it. I remember this is one of the few games I also played thru more than once.
I cannot stress how perfect this game was and I loved every little thing about it, and got every little thing in the game.

It is one of my top five games EVER list. Funny how Clover/Platinum games occupy two of my top five (Bayonetta being another).
