By Spencer . September 4, 2012 . 11:31pm

imageHave a PSP, PlayStation 3, a USB cable that connects the two, and Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Extend? Great! All you need is Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Dreamy Theater Extend and then you can play "Rolling Girl" and "Cumulonimbus Cloud Graffiti" on your TV.

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Dreamy Theater Extend will be available on PlayStation Network for 3,900 yen ($50) on September 13. The program will include a live mode where you can rotate the camera and six modules from the arcade version. Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Dreamy Theater Extend also supports stereoscopic 3D TVs.

Just to be clear, this is not a downloadable version of Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Extend. You need the PSP game to use Dreamy Theater Extend.

I kinda have to wonder if you do actually need the PSP game. I bought Dreamy Theater 2nd a while back, and it seemed like the game was fully playable even before I connected my PSP — all that did was unlock all the songs so I didn’t have to go through the motions of unlocking them all over again (along with all the 1st Mix songs).

I might be mistaken, but I swear it’s one of those “tell everybody you need the PSP game, but secretly you don’t” sort of situations, like with all the minigames from the Project Diva expansions. ;)

You only had to sync it with the PSP version once (unlike the first Dreamy Theater which had to be constantly connected to the PSP, rather annoyingly), but it was a required step.

    • Yes, it’s required.  The game has no unlock system whatsoever; it uses whatever you have unlocked on PSP to determine what content is available.  If you never link, you can’t even access the game menu.

Well well i’m busy with diva F and ..i’ll probably get this one too

  • Sweet! Now all we need is Project Diva F for the PS3 and we’re all set =^_^=

  • Oooh, finally! I was starting to worry Sega had forgotten it altogether but I guess they just didn’t want to rain on F’s parade. The price point is once again unpleasantly high but… Damn, Miku gets away with everything (^_^;)

    I’ll just leave this here

  • What is your source for that release date? Checking the team’s Twitter, Blog and Site, I can’t find anything about this.
